Tablet Faux Pas -

edited October 2020 in General Discussion

Seems I inadvertently cleared some things I wanted, (Photo's, Gallery, Downloads) by trying to free up some memory on my Tablet (Samsung Galaxy) a few days ago in my "Settings." Any way to retrieve it?

Have looked through my "Settings" again. Drawing a blank. (A Computer Luddite.)

Suggestions/Help?

"Cloud" showing a decent amount of storage. (250KB) Can not seem to figure out how to access. May have to figure out how to get a Samsung "Help" Technician onboard.

Slaps hand to forehead.

Not overly familiar with Android tablets, but if there's a "Trash" folder you might be able to restore the files from there. First, don't do anything rash like a system reboot.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Not sure if you can recover it. Have you expanded the memory on your tablet? Most have the ability to use a MicroSD card and can go up to 2GB. Bob

Now Ricci, you sound like my other "Friends." (Equally helpfull I might add.)

No porn on my Tablet. I just refuse to allow Chrome to access a lot of my stuff. Too invasive. (Seems to be the reason I can no longer post photo's.) "Do you allow Chrome to access, photo's, downloads, contacts, files etc?" Uh.............No.

Like a moron, I thought I was clearing up some digital space. Worked great for unused apps. Not so much for other stuff. *Note to Self - Leave that stuff you do not fully understand in "Settings" alone. Doh................

Luckily a lot of my Buddy growing up photos were on my phone. Pain in the *** to take photo's with my Tablet, have to take it out of the case etc. A lot of the photo's my Son sent me of his trips etc. lost. Downloads from here etc.

Ken, I bought a Galaxy Tab 4 tablet (for another use) and have done some exploring. I can't find an onboard folder like Trash that would contain "deleted" files, but I did find this on the 'net...
    Good luck!

Thanks Rocky, I will give it a look. I appreciate you looking in to it.

I see Cloud is showing a decent amount of data, but can not figure out how to access it.

250KB is small for a single photograph, Ken. Unless the cloud report is just links to files, there is not Michael there.
