Remington 541, Nylon 77, 581 magazine in 22lr./??
Thanks Grasshopper! I added a new photo that shows the 22LR cartridge loaded into the mag. It appears that the mag is designed for a longer cartridge? I tried a 22 Mag in there but it was to long. I am baffled!
My first thought was the same as Walt's. I found one on the auction side, and it's awful close, but not quite sure though.

I think you are both correct. It is polymer but has steel feed lips and a steel follower. Thanks Toad67!
I added another photo. When I load a few 22LR cartridges in the mag, they are not held securely and appear too short for the size of the magazine. I tried a 22 Mag cartridge but it was too long. Any other thoughts or ideas on what this magazine would fit?
Got to be Remington 591 in 5mm mag then?
I think Walt got it..

O. M. G. Didn’t have any idea they were that pricey but if you don’t have one, well you have a single shot-(
Rem. 591, 5MM Rem. RF Magnum. Doesn't look like it fits anything else.
Thank you Yonson!
The only rifles chambered for this round were the 591 & 592, 1970 - 1972. 592 had a tubular magazine. This info from COTW.
