I got this in a large lot of gun parts and do not know what it is. It is marked WINCHESTER with the R in a circle. I would like to know what it is and an approximate value. Thanks in advance.

Have I stumped everyone?
stripper clip for an 1873 Trapdoor
Be serious!
No Ideas?
OK-Quite playing around , that is it🤔
asop, WHAT is it? I do not believe it is a stripper clip for an 1873 Trapdoor. Why would you need a stripper clip for a single shot rifle?
I still do not know what it is. asop posted (OK-Quite playing around , that is it🤔). What does that mean?
Could it be a shell lifter for a winchester shotgun?
I do not think so. There are no holes for pins or screws to allow it to pivot to lift a shell. Thanks for your input. Maybe asop will explain his post.
Looks like a dust cover that would be taken off to fire.
