Oh wow,,
its not snowing here
Our mountains are getting a fair dump right now and while I was out doing chores just before dark we started getting tapioca snow, I’m sure the valley floor will be white come sun up.
We are at 5,000’
just looked out back and it’s white already.

We had so much wind last night it blew the cups off my Davis weather station anemometer.
Dangit I liked that weather station.
Is your wind coming down from the Big Su, Hatcher’s Pass or the Matanuska?

I just spoke on the phone with a Buddy in Buffalo Wyoming, he said it started snowing yesterday morning and hasn’t quit, and they have 18” on the level, no telling what the Bighorns are getting.
Makes our measly 7-8 inches pale by comparison.

We live in the valley between Prince William Sound and Cook Inlet, near Rabbit Lake. So when there's a pressure difference between the Inlet and the Gulf, it blasts through that cut like nobody's business. 100mph winds are common.
I love the snow! It's been cold enough here the last few mornings but we've gotten nothing.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
No snow here but this winter I will be up north in snow
got a lot of new snow up high in the Selway Mts, just west of me. the Selways lie west of the Bitterroot Valley running into Idaho. roughly looking at a 5500 ft cutoff on snow cover
