Kenosha riots- Kyle Rittenhouse

It is my understanding the laws prevented him from carrying a handgun. Of course he could have not been there. But he was there doing what he thought was right. If he was going to arm himself a long gun was his only legal option. If the law would have allowed him to carry a handgun he may have never been chased. But he was denied by the law.
The highway to Hell is paved with good intentions.
Bottom line:
It was legal for him to be there.
It was in his interest due to the fact he worked there.
It was legal for him to be armed.
It was legal to defend himself.
Since the self defense information was known by the prosecution, this should have never gone to trial.

Kyle Rittenhouse fatally shot man who was in 'horizontal position,' pathologist testifies
David K. Li and Samira Puskar

One of the men fatally shot by Kyle Rittenhouse was in a “horizontal” position, a forensic pathologist told Wisconsin jurors Tuesday, suggesting the victim wasn't a threat when he was gunned down.
Dr. Doug Kelley, a forensic pathologist with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, detailed the fatal gun shots suffered by Anthony Huber, 26, and Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, during an Aug. 25, 2020, protest of the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
Assistant District Attorney James Kraus sought to paint Rosenbaum’s killing as particularly egregious as he was “falling or perpendicular” when fatal shots were fired.
“The back-to-front shots to the head and then the kill shot to the back would have been as he was falling or perpendicular to the ground?” Kraus asked.
The doctor agreed.
“The only way that the trajectories of the gunshot wounds to the right side of the head and the back make sense is if he’s more horizontal to the ground and that is occurring at the time the last two gunshot wounds are heard on the video,” Kelley responded.
But defense attorney Mark Richards implied that Rosenbaum could have still been a threat to his client, who squeezed off the four shots against that victim in .76 of a second.
Richards stood in front of the witness, put his head down and feigned an aggressive rush toward the doctor.
“So if I was charging like a bull and diving, that would be consistent” with the wounds suffered by Rosenbaum, Richards asked.
“That would be,” Kelley responded.

Rittenhouse and at least one juror appeared to be unnerved by grim autopsy photos.
As Kraus put the disturbing images on an overhead screen for Dr. Kelley’s testimony, Rittenhouse again turned away or looked down to avoid looking at them.
At least one juror, kept looking forward but clearly closed her eyes as pictures of Huber on a coroner’s table were shown in the Kenosha courtroom.
Rittenhouse and scores of other people were on the streets of Kenosha after the shooting of Blake, a Black man, by a white police officer on Aug. 23, 2020.
The unrest in Kenosha drew Rittenhouse, then 17, across state lines, where he is alleged to have taken the AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle to protests.
Kenosha is about 20 miles northeast of Rittenhouse’s home in Antioch, Illinois, and 40 miles south of Milwaukee.
Rittenhouse has been charged with homicide and being a minor in possession of a firearm. A charge against him for violating curfew was dismissed on Tuesday.
The prosecution rested its case on Tuesday afternoon.

Now try and get a jury not to understand this ... No reasonable doubt. The only thing unknown is how many counts of murder they will decide.
Professional Testimony Nail in his coffin.
Agreed. Doesn't look like the prosecution has a modicum of case.

No reasonable doubt he killed in cold blood

The last 2 shots of a 0.76 second 4 shot volley is a nail in his coffin and proves murder in cold blood?
Defense attorney said he " Could Have " been a threat. Doesn't mean he was . Jurors take testimony from the Pathologist as a fact as he testified. not maybe , could have should have from an attorney.
What I read was the "expert" say these were the last 2 shots.
Again the last 2 shots of a 0.76 second 4 shot volley. The guy didn't lay down before he was shot, he was falling down from being shot.
That coupled with the fact the Dr. agreed he could have been charging when shot is way more than enough for reasonable doubt, at the least, and more likely will be seen as just further evidence Kyle was defending himself... consistent with all the other testimony and facts presented in this case. The prosecution has zero case.

That's what can happen when folks threaten the life of an armed man. Self defense has long been a justifiable response to being attacked.

I hope they have a circus in prison for him as suggested
I read he had applied or something and wanted to be a Cadet Officer in the Police Dept. Things happen for a reason this kid was a loose cannon from the get go.
If someone, ANYONE would have stepped in to protect Reginald Denny from the vicious, life altering attack he suffered during the Rodney King riots, I would have celebrated their actions. Rittenhouse was in a position to prevent attacks in Kenosha like the one suffered by Robert Cobb, and should be commended for it. Ball bat, pistol, dreaded AR15 or grandpa's old 03 Springfield, matters little. He was prepared to protect himself, and others.
Bottom line: Two violent thugs will not terrorize another city's inhabitants EVER, and one will think hard before doing it again.
That in the real world is a vigilante
Again he should have left the policing to the Police. They didn't ask him for help and nobody in town did.
Yep. It's kind of odd to see folks on this forum come down in support of the antifa and black lives matter terrorists but, it is what it is.

The police weren't stopping the burning and the beatings. If you were in danger and the police were unable or unwilling to protect you, I'd hope for someone like Kyle to step in on your behalf. Would you call it "vigilante justice" then?
I show no support for either. But I will stand and say bluntly he killed two people for no reason. Now how many other folks in town was carrying a AR15 out looking for a confrontation? He sure found it and bit off more than he could chew
Funny thing Property is not justified to kill. I didn't read about any protesters Killing anyone . They were just burning and looting.
The fact Kyle was standing up against folks and ultimately ended up defending his own life from those that spit on and want to defund the police makes some of the alliances here rather curious.

No excuse to kill . IN your own words.. standing up...in other words fighting...
And all of a sudden after the killings... How many other commando's want to come forward saying they were there and yes your Honor I want to kill some folks too because they riot
He is no Hero you are trying to make him out to be. He is a Zero . Hurting firearm owners all over the USA. Now what are you going to do when the anti gun folks have enough ammo and finally say... Well you know that kenosha incident with the AR15 is enough... Lets make them register them or just plain take them away..
Nothing hurts gun rights more than folks within the gun community who are willing to denigrate those that defend themselves with a gun.
Yep he was standing up... but not until he was in defense of his own life. He was there offering medical aid prior to being attacked. Defending your own life with a gun is something all gun owners should be capable of doing. It appears he did it quite well. Some of the dirt bag attackers are dead and folks here are upset about that. Quite telling.

Check it out for yourself.
"Mr. Rittenhouse says that he’s there to protect the business. He calls it his job, although there is no indication that he was asked to guard the site.
Later, he claims to another videographer that he was pepper sprayed by someone in a nearby crowd while protecting property.
In most of the footage The Times has reviewed from before the shootings, Mr. Rittenhouse is around this area. He also offers medical assistance to protesters.
About 15 minutes before the first shooting, police officers drive past Mr. Rittenhouse, and the other armed civilians who claim to be protecting the dealership, and offer water out of appreciation.
Mr. Rittenhouse walks up to a police vehicle carrying his rifle and talks with the officers.
He eventually leaves the dealership and is barred by the police from returning. Six minutes later footage shows Mr. Rittenhouse being chased by an unknown group of people into the parking lot of another dealership several blocks away."

If more peoplestood up for theirselves then we wouldn't be in the mess we are in! I hate he is in this situation, but he was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT correct in his actions. Some of you act like he just walked out there and shot people. He acted in SELF DEFENSE, watch the video....no need to listen to some medical experts OPINION! ITS ALL ON VIDEO. If he was not attacked, then he would not have shot anybody. Heck, he tried to run and they chased him down to continue to try and murder him!
And to the ones who says he doesn't have enough experience or training............how many INNOCENT people did he shoot?! Seems to me that he had EXCELLENT gun handling skills!
Wouldn't have been attacked if he wasn't there. He made that decision and then the decision to kill.
Even the Police didn't kill anyone.
