Makes me think back to a dealer in Texas that was a combined gun shop and muffler shop. Super nice folks.
I remember one near Marietta, Ga. that was a gun shop and Bar B Q joint.
Had few like that back in the 80's in rural Mo.
Looks like a major police supply house.
Now that right there is funny!!!
Remember a Old General Store in Louisa County, Virginia back in the early 50's. Guns and Ammo on one side. Big old nail keg in middle of that wall with some beat up guns stuffed in it. Sign read "Help yourself" and I think it said "$5 Ea." Early on a Sat morning and dad and I were going rabbit hunting. I needed some shotgun shells but we did not have a lot of money so I asked owner if I could buy half a box." Sure son here is ten and here is a extra one from me free." I suppose in most states now the owner would go to jail for that.----Ray
That is the Ace Hardware in Midland Michigan.
Where I lived in TX the next town over had a mens barbershop that was also a gun store. Pretty cool!
Now that I have retired, I'm considering opening a gun shop that also sells better quality Bourbon and cigars.
Figured that "Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms" would be a catchy name.
Napa Auto Parts in Orofino sells guns, new and used. Also, a Stihl dealer. Their store over in Pierce does so as well.
Looking @ citydata.org it seems Midland is a RED community. 56% for Trump 2020. Nat crime index @160. Less than half the national average of 340. l spent some time in that area during the summer in the early 90s training Mich Nat Guard. We were training at Camp Grayling which is west of Midland. l always wanted to return, but never did make it back. Great friendly people in that area
The most unusual "Combo" business I have ever been to was and maybe still is a small restaurant in Bear Lake MI. A sit down place that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
They also sell live bait! 😲 I only ate there once and resisted quite a few menu items like Smelt dinners, meat loaf, and anything containing ground meat! Figured that the fried chicken to be a safe bet but then again???😁
Another place in Michigan that advertises on TV is a donut shop that has I believe 4 outlets in several towns. Called "COPS & DONUTS", Owned by 2 very heavy set former policemen who make goofy commercials.
Years back there was a bar close by here , the walls and ceiling were lined with antique firearms .
There was 100's of them in the place. I can't remember the name of the place as this was back in the 60's
A lot of us can remember general stores, feed mills, road side stations and other places that had different things in them, guns and ammo were common. The main grocery store in town sold ammo, including BB's which were a treat to get when I was young. Sometimes the owner, wife, or some other relative would have an interest and have a corner where they traded or sold things. Electric trains, dolls, knives, shotguns, what ever it was. Small gun counters started fading away after the 68 gun control act required FFL's. If you get out in the country you'll still see other counters though.
I remember a sign I saw in the mid sixties just inside Mexico. Marriages Divorces Upholstery jobs.
Yep, in those sparsely populated areas one needs to "bundle". The gas station, liquor store, and post office in Clarkfork is all the same place.
Dick's Country Store, Music Oasis and Gun City located in Churubusco, New York on U.S. 11 up near the Canadian border.
Ran across this place out in the middle of nowhere while on a motorcycle trip several years back.
Good sized gun shop within a rural country store with a back shop containing serious stock of high end guitars only rivaled by Norm's in California.
Still am amazed at what I stumbled into just because I noticed the sign, had no idea it was there.
"Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms" should be the name of a convenience store.
I'd hate to work there and see people eat something sticky and then ask to handle a gun.
Hell, it ain't chicken! Don
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😄😄😄
