Funny, or Not Funny???

Out shooting and have a new, inexperienced shooter. They put their safety and full trust in you, but you just have to go and do it.
Gives the new person a hot load, or a weapon that has aggressive recoil, without warning. Then laugh so hard because you find so funny.
This burns me up mad, either seeing it or just hearing about it. I find nothing funny about that at all. You probably ruined a person from ever shooting again.
A few guys plinking, knowing Nicky has some hot loads is one thing, but as first described, nope not funny.

I agree, Joe. Not funny. It’s like taking someone flying and trying to scare the carp out of them. Not funny.
A few of my pilot friends would do that and I chewed them out and explained why they were wrong. Most of them understood and never did it again.
There's nothing funny about a loaded firearm.
It would serve the firearm owner right if the novice shooter dropped the weapon onto the ground severely scratching and damaging his prized and expensive bullet launcher. I bet he wouldn't pull that trick again.
Nothing funny about pranking with a firearm, first it's dangerous to not let an inexperienced shooter know what to expect when he/she pulls the trigger as serious injury to the face isn't uncommon with excessive recoil shots and secondly there is the potential damage to the weapon which I agree with elubsme would be a fitting end to a bad prank.
Not funny at all. Dangerous, stupid, and a great way to get someone hurt or at least make them feel ridiculous.
Anyone who treats a gun as a toy or as a prop for a prank should get a good Amish-style shunning.

NOT funny!!! Asininity of the highest order.....
I have seen videos where the guys hand an inexperienced gal a 12 gauge double barrel, and when she fires it the recoil knocks her to the ground. The guys double up with laughter.
Not funny, not funny at all.
That is not funny. Good way to turn someone against shooting.
Not funny…at all. The perp isn’t someone I’d care to know…off my shooting/hunting buddy list. Heck, the only list I’d keep him on is my “people I used to tolerate” list.
Not funny. Not safe. You can see thousands YouTube videos of that exact scenario, and it disgusts me every time I happen across one.
Not funny . Each of us are ambassadors to the shooting sports when we take a newbie on an outing . A bad experience become fodder for the left with predictable results . Knock it off already !
That's the very best way to put it. Well said.

Not funny............and a good way to turn a new shooter into an anti gun person.
Absolutely not with a new shooter. Now there has been a heavy turkey load or two mixed in with birdshot before with friends of mine(experienced shooters).
One of the funniest times involved two 6" revolvers, one a .357 and the other a .22. Told my Dad I loaded some hot rounds in my 357 then slipped him the .22. Watching him tense up and only getting a little pop was the greatest.
Decidedly not.
Many years ago......the Arab fella, that owns/runs the old accuratereloading site, snookered some garbed guy into shooting a substituted hot round in a custom T-Rex chambered rifle........while standing in his shooting tunnel/facility.
The poor slob was knocked flat, and the rifle went flying(the video may still be on the site).
He titled it "Why P**********ns throw rocks."........and thought it funny.
I did NOT.
I would start rookies at the PD who had never shot anything with a .22 LR. Then move them up.
@elubsme Had a gal at the range who wanted to shoot a .308 rifle for the first time. Even though I warned her, I still held my hand below and caught it, whew. 😅
I have never understood it.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
There are a lot of things that are funny in this world and I enjoy looking for them. THIS is DEFINATELY NOT one of them!
Ten degree banks for awhile.
Not funny at all. Might even get you a punch in the mouth.
I loved to do aerobatics in my Cessna 140 and the 170, but always asked first if a new passenger was up to it. The gun pranks are totally dangerous and uncalled for.
One of my best friends was a Captain for US Air and one of the best pilots I've ever known, once he took me up in an aerobatic Wag-Aero Cub ............ should have guessed when he had me use the "full" restraint system rather than just the seat belt, we did a lot of maneuvers that are designed specifically to make you puke I think.
So I'm in the back seat staring at the back of his head and I told him "one more unannounced maneuver and I'm going to puke down the back of your neck" that put an end to that. He didn't do it to scare me however.
I've learned since then that if you are the command pilot, those maneuvers don't bother you as you are fully concentrated on what you are doing and know what to expect, it's when you don't know it's coming and have no control that the stomach starts to turn.
