    If the rear sight ears on your 1917 were ground down, then you are probably wanting the micro-dial base to fit the old Remington Model 30. That is the Beuhler E7S

    On another note, you may be able to make a Beuhler micro-dial work that fit a small ring Model 98 mauser. I've got one of those, but it was counterbored to fit 8-40 screws and might not be worth the trouble for you.
