Pressure sign in gas guns?

ContacFrontContacFront Member Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭✭✭
Gentlemen,

When doing load development for a gas gun/semi auto, how does one look for pressure signs? Same way as a bolt? I will be starting a project on a AR-10 in 308 Win here pretty soon and if has any loads that work in theirs, please do share.

when the brass flies as far as the bullet, it is a little hot.:).

Actually I believe that if the pressure is too high, the case expands to the point to where extraction is hard, and the extractor may slip from the groove or even tear the case apart. The guys on here will be able to tell you better than me. I am curious to what they might say, and I would be afraid that a kB! in a semi or a burst primer etc might be a little more catostrophic than in a bolt gun.
