45-70 QUESTION'S

Hear is what im working with.

i have some 325gr lrn gas ck bullets
wanting to use 3031 powder, info i have found is for 322gr 52.0+60.0*

i also have mixed brass (separated)
normal 45-70 win,rem, etc @ 2.100 LENGTH
hornady Leverevolution that is 2.050 LENGTH

max load is out of the question as it is already compressed at 60

any idea how much to reduce this to use the hornady brass?

not looking for zombie killer bullets

gun is a HR HB 45-70

HAVE SHOT THE Hornady 45-70 Leverevolution OUT OF IT AND THEY HAVE A GOOD KICK TO IT[B)]

WAS THINKING maybe using 50g of the 3031.

IF you keep the OAL the same, and don't need to crimp, the .050 shorter case length won't matter.

How long is the barrel on your H&R? As Tailgunner said, the shorter brass won't hurt anything. Not crimping will make your brass last longer, another benefit of shooting a single shot. If you have the longer barreled H&R H4895 does a good job, RL7 works with shorter tubes.
