Hornady FTX bullet for 45-70 FYI

Just started with these today. The 325 grain FTXs for 45-70. Hornady says to trim the brass to 2.040 for these because of the bullet design.
That's all fine except it turns out that my RCBS dies won't crimp a case that is that short. These are going in a Marlin so I will need to crimp them.
Anybody else loading these and experiencing this problem? What's your fix?
I've got my brother bringing over a different brand of dies so I'll see if they work and report back.
