A friend of mine was up, so we took a couple of pistols to plink with real quick. We shot 45 rounds(30 by me, 15 by him) rounds through my SD40VE. This makes 5 SDVE pistols I have or have been around that just goes bang every time, like it should. We shot 30 rounds of 180 grain FMJ and 15 rounds of 180 grain JHP.

I have said it before and will say it again....for $300 pistols(less if your patient) these things are workhorses. My wife loves her 9mm and I think I will like this .40.

Them and the Ruger SR9E are excellent entry level guns. The S&W is probably the better deal as it comes with two mags. Thought of getting one to put in my bug out bag.

Bought one on sale years ago. Trigger pull sucked and I quickly traded it away. Since then, I have fired a number of the SW40VEs and found they are all alike.
Yeah, they work. If can live with a heavy trigger pull each time you pull the trigger they're OK.

I will make sure to post my results next time I get it to the range for you. I would like to put a lot of rounds through her next time.

I have owned mine for many, many years.

Since I carried a revolver for twenty years the trigger is no problem.

Works every time, and I keep it loaded with hydro-shocks, and practice with ball nose.

If you are on a budget and only have $300 - $350 to spend, the S&W SD series is worth a look. I would much rather own an American made pistol than some muslime made in turkey POS for the same money.

I am sure the trigger could be addressed same as any other plastic pistol. The Ruger SR series trigger can be slicked up in an hour or two with zero cost. I did the trigger on my wife's SR9, it is night and day difference, and again for zero cost.
