Just added a little .45 to the repertoire (Update)

Have looked at it, several times over last 3 weeks. Came home did some more research, went back and placed it, (an American Tactical - Titan LW) a Springfield XD subcompact in .45, and a Springfield XDS in .45 all side by side, comparing them.
I was somewhat tempted to leave with the XDs, (even though I had gone back to pick up the Titan.) but the classic all steel 1911 design had me in its grip.
It is the smaller "Officer," size, 7+1 single stack. extended beavertail, ambi-safety, 3 hole lightweight trigger, drilled (or open) hammer, adj. front and rear Novak sights, classic checked mahogany grips, parkerized finish.
I'll be shooting it tomorrow, so a range report will follow. [:)]

Just shot 4 mags (28 rounds) of FMJ through it. 1st mag had 3 FTF issues. (2nd, 3rd, and 4th round)
Not happy.[:(]
Fired three more mags, (all 230gr ball ammo.) through it. Not as bad, but still sporadic FTF issues. Gonna have to do some stone work to the feed ramp, it looks like.

Good news was that out of those 28 rounds, (at approx 15 yards)
9 were in the Bull. All but 3 of the rest were in the 9.
Gonna disassemble, do some stone work, to the feed ramp, grease the rail, (as has been suggested here,) and try again.

Thank you Forge. The single action trigger, is very very smooth, clean breaking and light. Anxious to run some rounds through it. [:D]

I've been wanting one of these, for quite a while now. Fit and finish, is very nice.[:)]

I'm with ya man! Tomorrow is when I pick up an EAA SAR45, 14-shot, nite sight, extra mag & find a nice holster at the same show!
I got my li'l brother an ATI couple years ago, added a muzzle brake & rubber/Rosewood grips with hex grip screws; he kinda likes it!

Thanks Shilo. I tried to wiggle em' down, but they were firm on $450.

I was bummed I missed out on Kasey's XD/40. I believe I'm going to like this classic better.

After shipping and receiving, I would have been into the XD/40 around $420ish. (If) I could have scored it for $360 or so.

I pick it up tomorrow, the FFL I use had to go before I got there; hoping the kid's a boy!

This is the ad that started it all, hope it's OK to post a link.

It's not really a competing auction site, but it has great pics of guns!

Interesting Gunnut. Nice looking firearm. If you can score that for $369ish, I'd say that is one heck of a deal.

OK, tiny amount of stone work on the feed ramp, light grease on the slide rails. Fired 7 out of 7, no issues. 6 out of 7, in the bull. Better.

Best was trying to get back in, the back screen door. Wasn't moving , till I * it open, and smacked myself in the forehead with the door. Bleeding now. Too funny.[:0].
    Ahh...Life.[:)]

Yeah. Hahaha. I was expecting comments along these lines. [:D]

Its the freaking latch, on the back screen door.
Took a scheduled day off, to avoid the 6th workday,
    (Mandatory Sat.)
    That's what I get. [:D]

    Too funny.[:0]
