Lost a Good Friend today....

Had to make the trip I was not looking forward to and take our Speckles to the last vet trip this AM. She had cancer and until 5 days ago was doing OK but then started downhill fast. Yesterday she hardly moved any at all and I had to pack her back in the house once she was so weak. This morning she was up and around but still not eating and breathing hard.
She was a guard dog around the hosue when I wasnt home and a perfect farm dog. She was a once in a lifetime dog and will be greatly missed. Buried her out in the front yard next to our lab. Those two would dig up a acre of field to get the mice.
This was her pic with Santa 2 weeks ago, she was looking as great as ever here.
RIP SPeckles 1998-2011

None of us are promised tomorrow. That truth is sometimes revealed to us in very stark terms.

Sorry for your loss, and that of this man's family.

    Prayers from hear.

Hate to hear that. That's terrible.

All surgery is dangerous. I'd have to have sinus problems really bad before I'd let someone cut on me.

    Condolences and prayers to all.

My eldest son had the same surgery about 4 weeks ago.
    Similarly, he wouldn't stop bleeding.
Spent three days in the hospital for out-patient surgery.

Our prayers for him and his family.

    The Clock of Life

The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power
To tell just where the hands will stop,
    At late or early hour.

To lose one's wealth is sad indeed,
To lose one's health is more.
To lose one's soul is such a loss
    As no man can restore.

The present only is our own.
Live, love, toil with a will.
    Place no faith in 'tomorrow'
For the clock may then be still.

    Prayers from here Paul.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain
