Pistol Barrel ID please

Hello

Helping a retired gunsmith clean shot and this turned up.

He has no memory what it is or where he got it from :(

Eight grove rifling
Barrel is 5?
Diameter .445
Little to no markings found

Information is appreciated

    Very distinctive. This was used exclusively by Webley, in England. In there early, large caliber semiauto pistols. Dating to at least 1904. It was designed by William Whiting. Probably would be chambered, for either 9mm Browning Long or .38 Colt Auto.

    Sorry! Didn't read your original post. Most likely .455 Webley Auto. Which is different and not interchangeable with our 45 Colt Auto cartridge. Believe it's a semi-rimed cartridge. Like the early John Browning designed cartridges. From the early 1900's?
