Compare the stamping on my old Bulgarian Makarov with the newer stamps:
Which of the two markings would you call discrete?
When the law first went into effect in the mid 80's. Their was no standard size or location for the import markings. It was up to the importer. I've owned imports from the 80's/90's time frame. Where the markings were virtually indistinguishable. Unfortunately for us collectors, the BATF wised up. And started mandating the minimum size and location of markings. That's why your $4600 Korth's, country of origin/importers markings, are so obtrusive. It was the only way, that the feds would let it in.
