New Ruger .22

Ruger released a new little .22 this morning. Always thought the LCP would be good in .22 for fun or maybe a backup. I have a .380 version that?s been a great little gun. This new one has an easier to rack slide for those maybe with arthritis.

Not if it was a smaller diameter. The slide should weigh less because it would be too heavy for the lower recoil energy of the .22. The gun should weigh less & cost less.
Rural King doesn't have them listed yet.
Will stop by lgs Thursday to see when they'll get one in and cost.

If they used the same basic frame and slide of the .380 the outside barrel diameter would be the same and in inside bore diameter smaller, leaving more steel in the barrel. The slide is probably about the same and the springs are lighter. As for cost, what will the market bear? They probably run this pistol on as much of the existing machinery as possible.
I always figured they were paying licensing rights to them. I just looked at the new 57 pistol. Geez, it is very similar to the FN version. Maybe their motto is to let everyone else design and get the bugs out, then modify it just enough to get away with it. Why design from scratch when you can steal the design.
She has two coming.
Price point at $299 she thought.
Told her to put my name on one.
Apples to oranges.
For target shooting or just plain plinking, id take one of my 22/45's, single sixes, or 17 Smiths.
None of those fit in my front jeans pocket or are a duplicate of my ccw that can and does fit in said pocket.
Being able to shoot a cheaper round out of a clone to ones carry gun has quite a bit of value I think.
YMMV
