.222 40 Grain Jet bullets in 22 Hornet

Is it feasible to use .222 40 gr. Hornady Jet bullets for reloading my Sako 78 22 Hornet , which most likely a .224 bore

It will work but not sure how well for 2 reasons. The smaller diameter and lighter construction for even lower velocity.  No harm in trying IMHO. It might be just the ticket in your rifle.  I just shoot cast bullets in my Jet these days.

Have you tried the Hornady 35 or 40 grain V-Max bullets? If your rifle is .224 the .222 bullets will not be as good a fit as you may want.  I did run some 22 WMR bullets in my S&W M-53 and it didn't seem to mind, but it was .223 dia.
