Winchester 1894 Carrier

I have seen both of these advertised as 30-30 carriers

Please help me out here and thanks

    they both are, top is newer investment cast. bottom is older machined steel

    The upper carrier may be correct for newer 1894s but the lower one is correct for rifles up to at least 1,008,000 serial number, which is the highest number I own. In the pre-war, and probably pre-64s, the carrier in any 1894 is identical, regardless of the caliber. The cartridge guides, however, are not identical. There are four different guides depending on caliber.
