Chicago Mayor Now Blames 'Guns From Other States to be the problem
Lightfoot - who just admonished Chicago police for asking Trump to help 'bring back civility' to the Windy City - has received pushback from community leaders and experts - such as Cure Violence CEO Gary Slutkin, who told TIME that the police "might be able to reduce the flow [of illegal weapons] slightly or temporarily by collecting guns off the streets, but there is no demonstration of it being truly effective."
So, the mayor of one of the country's most violent cities is now blaming guns for said violence, and won't allow federal officials into the city to keep the peace.
"We can't just allow anyone to come into Chicago, play police in our streets, in our neighborhoods, when they don't know the first thing about our city. That's a recipe for disaster. And that's what you're seeing playing out in Portland on a nightly basis," Lightfoot told CNN.
It's always somebody else's fault, and help is not wanted.

'Mostly peaceful protests' seems to mean fewer than 10 police officers are taking a brick to the head.
Federal LEOs are deployed to protect Federal Property in Portland and this idiot from Chicago is trying to convince people that they are prowling the streets, looking for jaywalkers to abduct, interrogate make disappear.
I am not a fan of federal officers being used in the streets of our cities, but if the local dirtbags will not protect Federal Property, there are few other realistic options.
Yes, Mayor Lightfoot, a large number of guns that are used in your city come from outside of Cook County and from outside of the State of Illinois. These guns are being used to protect and promote the trade in drugs that also come from outside of Cook County and outside the State of Illinois. The people using the drugs and the guns, however, are not from outside of Cook County or the State of Illinois. They are home-grown and are a product of the culture and social norms that have been allowed to grow and fester in your once fine city, Mayor.
Ironically, it seems Ms. Lightfoot is going to need Federal help to stem the flow of firearms into Chicago. I wonder if she would reject that assistance?

The irony of the statements is mind-numbing.
