Anyone have a link or know how to Cross reference the Sears labeled model 53 Winchester 70 rifles serial numbers to APPROXIMATE years of manu.
Some were also labeled Ted Williams.
Made by Winchester and labeled as Sears model 53 and some as Ted Williams.
Think most were push feed and probably post 64 produced??????

Might help, if you posted partial serial number. And sears I.D. number, which was a series of numerals, divided by a period.

Okie, all the Sears branded guns, had Sears serial numbers, apart from Winchester serial numbers, and to date, no known database has been discovered.

Yep, that seems to be. (no know database available now days)
Even though they are a Winchester Model 70 I see all different kinds of parts used on the Sears model 53's, for example some Sears 53's have the Winchester 70 pre-64 type firing pins and some have the post 64 firing pins. (and they appear to be post 64's that have the pre 64 type firing pins)
Have to be careful when trying to find Sears 53  correct parts, can easily spend several bucks get wrong parts such as firing pins etc. Cannot just buy Post 64 Win 70 part for replacement.
Even the bolt bodies are not all the same on the Sears branded Model 53's.
Some appear to have been made one at a time. (and only one made that used those parts)
Really a surprise how accurate several of them 30:06 ugly duckling type Model 53's are capable of shooting, making a pretty gun look bad when at the bench rest.

The Sears Model 53 superseded the Model 51L made by High Standard.   The first appearance of the Model 53 was in the 1964 Fall Winter  Sears catalog but was not called Model 53 in the catalogs until the Fall Winter 1965 catalog.  Sears stopped cataloging guns in 1969 catalog and stopped selling guns about 1983-4.  The Ted Williams version appeared in the Fall Winter 1965 catalog .  The Model 53 in the 1965 Fall Winter catalog was$116.95 and was available in .30-06, .270, .308, and .243.  The Ted Williams version was $159.95 and was available in .30-06 and .270
