Questions on selling/shipping antique firearms

I am going to help a friend start thinning his collection of antique firearms.  All are original flintlock or percussion pistols so no question they meet the federal definition of antiques.  I believe as such they can be sent directly to the buyer by USPS under federal law.  Please correct me if I am wrong on that.  My real question is are there any states or jurisdictions that would prohibit direct sales and shipping of of these firearms?  California, and NY City come to mind as possible concerns.  Any and all help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
