WW1 Canvas rifle carry case

I have 2 vintage WW1 canvas military rifle carry cases. One I purchased was advertised as being for a 1903 Springfield rifle. The other I purchased claimed it was for a 1918 BAR. Boith bags are same size and appear to be identical. The Springfield rifle is a little sloppy in the bag, while the BAR will only latch if the flash hider is removed. Was there only one size fits all or was there 2 different size bag sizes? Thanks

Model 1917 would probably fit if the '03 is too small and the BAR is too big
One size for all, that's why they had the flap belt.
