Bidding on a rifle in the same state I live in, if I win the auction can I meet the seller at his FFL dealer and buy the gun that way.

Depends on your state of residence.
Michigan
In addition, a lot depends on whether or not the seller is willing to meet face to face. Inquire BEFORE YOU BID.
I would just like to know if it’s legal for me to do that.
Is it alright with gunboker?
Yes it is legal to buy a gun from someone in your own state. However it has to be transferred to you through an FFL. dealer. Gunbroker only sets up the sale, they have nothing to do with the transfer of guns.
Some states allow face to face between residents with out doing a FFL transfer.
But, ask for and leave a paper trail for your later benefit. Receipts, photo ID's and or such.
VA is one that wants you to do the paperwork.
In Michigan for long guns person to person is OK. No paperwork required. Seller needs to verify that buyer is 18 years old. FFL is required for buyer to receive any gun. Hand guns require paperwork signed by both buyer and seller.
Who collects the sales tax and sends it to the government, transferring agent or GunBroker ?
