Colt Frontier Scout 22 Magnum Barrel Question

I bought a used Scout barrel, factory original part, and it has the normal Colt markings but is marked 22 magnum. Am I correct in assuming it came off an early model before the dual cylinder models had come out ? If so , or either way, I would think it would be fine with a Scout 22 LR cylinder ? Thanks for any input.

Colt did come out with the Scout with the magnum only option after 1960 up until 1970? I believe. I am not an expert but don't see why it wouldn't work if the fit was good. Someone more advanced will come along for a definitive answer.
