MPF Tax & Non Paying Bidders

Hello,
I haven't posted any items since the new tax collection policy went into place - I was wondering how the tax collection works for non-paying bidders?
As I understand it, sellers not using immediate checkout will have to collect the tax from buyers - GB calculates the tax based on the buyer's ship to address and then adds it to the invoice total. The amount of tax collected by a seller will be later charged to their card on file.
But what if the buyer never pays? Is the tax automatically refunded or removed from the balance after filing a non-paying bidder report and relisting the item with a credit?
Anyone have any experience with this?

I ask Gunbroker this same question. I was told all fees will be refunded to the sellers acct. 😎
I had a couple and yes, I was not on the hook for any of it. Seems complicated but they have it right. (GB)
How did you get the tax refunded? Was it simply by requesting a credit for the auction for non-paying bidder?
Thanks for the information.
I would guess that's how it was dealt with.
Short answer, Yes. And do it as soon as you can to get it done.
Thanks for the help, everyone.
well I have $400 in taxes and fees that are not being refunded and my refund request are going unanswered so it's far from perfect. Item was listed as a condition of refund request I miss the deadline by 1 day while in the hospital and now another fraudulent by it now customer with nr from NY state has the entire process going again. I have been active here for over a decade but this new system is not seller friendly. My .02
