GrasshopperGrasshopper Member Posts: 16,704 ✭✭✭✭

Just says Llama 380 on slide so can't narrow the model. Anyway. was biding when operating slide and took it apart. Cleaned and all the other stuff, stretched mag spring ect. Now slide stop, release won't lock back. Worn stop/ release, or? but the kicker, slide moves freely now? thanks

Llama made a host of models in .380, but they are all basic scaled down versions of the 1911. If it worked before you took it apart, you either didn't get it back together right, or you lost some parts. Is the slide lock detent still there?

The slide lock is powered by the magazine follower. You say you stretched the magazine spring. Is the follower in the correct position. Check the interface of the follower pushing the slide lock up. Older pistols usually had followers made out of sheet steel that could be bent so they would not work properly.

Yes spring in correctly and put back together but I NOW see after you guys comments that the slide release edge looks like it is worn and rounded out of spec. Yes, there were several models of these and interchange ? Gosh thanks both replies it helped ,
