It's no where near paranoia. The NSA was granted the right to spy on Americans in this way by the Patriot Act endorsed by George the lesser. Their power was expanded under chocolate Jesus. The NSA was used, for example to spy on several media folks, which complained about it for months. They also used data they collected to justify tax audits on several republican congress critters and their donors. Not to mention the complete hoax they perpetrated which involved spying on Carter Page, a joe blow American citizen working for the Trump campaign. Maybe stop swallowing hook line and sinker every Russian disinformation bit you can swallow.

Seems some are very anti govt. on this forum. I am glad the govt has the tools to catch possible terrorists.
And while we are on the subject ....Just What IS this so called Plan ?
You have no fourth amendment any longer. They collect everything (data) on you 24/7 and when they need to see anything on you then they just push a button on the keyboard. All the formalities of the search are worked out before you see any kind of judge in the courtroom. A look-see is never a deterrent under the law.
