Old Bill is buying with the dollar as long as he can! The international corporations are going to control the food supply before long!

As we have previously notehttps://summit.news/2022/07/01/bill-gates-granted-authority-to-buy-2100-more-acres-of-north-dakota-farmland/d, Bill Gates and other billionaires have been buying up huge amounts of farmland while Americans are being told by neo-feudalist ‘Great Reset’ technocrats that the future is one without private property.

Bill Gates, who already owns close to 270,000 acres of land in the U.S., has been granted the legal authority to buy another 2100 acres in North Dakota despite protests by local residents.

Gates, already the largest farmland owner in the country, has secured the go ahead to buy the land for $13.5 million under his ‘Red River Trust’ company.

Personally, I think he is a very smart man. If he wants to protect his wealth, at least the part he hasn't given away, what better asset is there to have? Stock market, precious metals, crypto all suck right now so why not land? Not sure what his owning way less than 1% of the U.S. farmland scares you, but I think your worries are unfounded. The U.S.D.A. says we have 895 million farm acres, so his paltry 270,000 acres are not even a drop in the bucket. But then again it is entertaining reading your conclusions drawn from some of the sites you frequent. 😉 Bob

Certainly no one can dispute Bill's legal right to buy land.

As long as he doesn't ask me to eat his fake beef, eat bugs, or take any of his vaccines, then I have no issue with the little weasel.

He also has to pay the taxes on all of his property. Not a big deal for a multi billionaire but that tax money does benefit the local areas.

Yet the control of food falls to how the government and big owners wish to make & distribute it. And that logistics can control a lot of political power. The family farm is dead and helping each other on a local scale with food is gone.

Bill had to jump through some hoops to gain control of this land with a rental plan. I.E. modern day sharecropping with LLC owners. There is always ways to consolidate power. Just look at central banks for reference. Let them entertian you with a zero percentage rate for savings with inflation at over 8% there Bob.

    Pocket change for him

Nice change of subject, from farmland to interest and inflation rates. I still say Gates owning .03%, that's 3 hundredths of 1%, is nothing but fodder for conspiracy theorists to come up with outlandish claims that keep us entertained.

It is hard to find a silver lining in the mega inflation and dismal interest rates, but it will doom the libs and dems for at least the next 6 years. If there truly was a master plan behind this, it sure has been an example of total ineptness in implementing it. It is hard to gain control when most of the electorate has turned against you. So nope, no evil genius behind the curtain, just ignorant and stupid bumbling politicians. Bob

  • serfserf Member Posts: 9,217 ✭✭✭✭

The master plan is a cashless society and social scoring with a carbon foot print limits. Might happen real fast if NATO & Russia gets into a war between themselves. If so Putin is crazy enough to use a tactical nuke if cornered. Won't be pretty for any of US there Bob.

Land is always a good investment. Last I checked, they just aren't making any more of it.

"Land is always a good investment. Last I checked, they just aren't making any more of it."

    ^^Correct^^

The problem with with 'corporate ownership' is similar to the socialist state land ownership: People working for someone else don't usually produce as effectively as people working for themselves. Farming is PERSONAL and hands on endeavor and regardless of how good the employees may be, they will never put in effort or have the commitment that would be applied to something they OWN.

  • serfserf Member Posts: 9,217 ✭✭✭✭

It goes back to Thomas Jefferson when he said every man should try farming. Basically it's a way of life for survival back then. Now with billionaires in charge with multi international corporations with the government, I trust neither especially now with Social profiling with carbon use. You can bet the billionaires carbon usage will be much bigger than the average family.

The new food products coming soon are either going to be plant, insect or synthetic. Real meat products, dairy or eggs will be too expense for most to consume.

I may be wrong but in the past folks with money bought up acres and acres of land then put it in a soil or grain bank. Our Goberment would pay them not to grow FOOD on that property.

Wallah, land paid for at the taxpayers expense.

I really don't blame the folks taking advantage of the system but the system is broken for sure.

When millions of acres of somewhat questionable crop land went into CRP, there were investors who jumped into buying this type of land. Recent increases in crop values have changed this and the changes in what is acceptable for current CRP enrollment have/will take millions of acres of idled crop land out of the program.

Some of the highly erodible/specific soil type acres will re-enroll in another more specific program but a LOT of cropland is going to show up in planted acres beginning next year. I had 30 acres that didn't re-enroll in 2021 and another 80 this year.

The major player in farmland is the 'investor groups' who pool millions of dollars to buy land away from REAL farmers at prices that the land can never repay.

He is not just buying farmland world-wide,he is buying Food Chain Markets. If you can invent it,produce it and the sell it then you got a good monopoly going and Old Bill Gates knows how to stay on top. Food & water is political power and always has been. https://www.governing.com/now/corporations-are-consolidating-water-and-land-rights-in-the-west

Bill Gates & co invest 600 million in Picnic

Dutch online-only supermarket Picnic has secured an investment of 600 million euros to speed up its European expansion. Investors include current stakeholders and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust.

    Expansion in France and Germany

Picnic wants to use the additional funds mainly to speed up its expansion in France and Germany, and will invest especially in robotic fulfilment centres, electric vehicles and a team of software developers. Moreover, the company wants to create a framework to satisfy the growing demand – and to do so more sustainably.

if he takes that ground out of production and lets it revert back to the natural state of seasonal wetlands, then ND can become the duck factory it was known for so many years. we need more ducks!

" then ND can become the duck factory it was known for so many years. we need more ducks!"

Pray tell what is the great need for 'more ducks'?

Most non-ag type folks don't consider the ramifications of re-establishing a wetland. Sure, it seems like a GREAT plan from the sidelines BUT the rest of the story isn't pleasant for farmers in the surrounding area.

Anywhere there is a large expanse of basically flat ground, impounding water has far reaching effects by raising the water table in an entire area. Strike 1.

The resulting flooding may cause detrimental effects for miles when there's heavy rains. Strike 2.

Anywhere there's impounded water (AKA duck swamps) 'other species' will infiltrate and take up residence. Beavers show up and build dams causing uncontrollable flooding. Muskrats move in and burrow into everything from water exclusion berms to public roads. With the muskrats come otters that decimate privately stock ponds/lakes. Strike 3.

I'm sitting in the middle of just such a scenario caused by exactly what has suggested and it's no laughing matter. I've lost the use of 20 acres of $5000/acre farmland due to these specific problems---all related to the re-establishment of duck 'habitat'(AKA swamp land).

Bill Gates now says he wishes to donate all his wealth for Social Good to all of humanity or Is it another ploy to control the narrative of Agenda 2030? He certainly likes vaccine research. Yep control of food production with distribution and water rights could be a big factor for world poltics.you think?

Wealthy people sure do scare some folks! What would you do if you had an extra 100 billion bucks lying around? I think his actions, rather than being nefarious or altruistic, stem from him being bored. It is a way for him to stay busy, have goals and also leave a legacy behind that he is proud of. At least he is not asking for your money.

After all, if your dire predictions come true concerning A.I., his Microsoft tower will soon come crashing down. No need for a simple operating system for the masses when computers rule the world! So he better spend the bucks while he still can.

What about his investment in Picnic scares you? It looks like a good investment to me. Kind of like a Dutch version of Amazon. Of course you probably have never used Amazon because they must really terrify you with their size and success.

There are tons of real, but mundane, problems going on in this world but someone always has to assign them to being part of grand conspiracies instead of being the result of individual greedy and stupid politicians. Nope, no great wizard behind the curtain, just a bunch of ego driven politicians looking out for number one and not caring for or interested in working with anyone else. An example would be Manchin. On the one hand he is condemned by his party for not going along. On the other hand he is voting according to the wishes of his electorate. In other words, he is trying to keep his job. It is strange that a red state would elect a democrat so his hold on his office is already tenuous at best. We are just fortunate that he wants to stay in office enough to block the democrats wish list. Another would be Al Gore. Talk about being a greedy con man. He has made millions off of creating and exploiting "climate change". The man has a bigger carbon footprint than a lot of towns so he doesn't really give a damn about the environment as long as the money keeps rolling in. Not a part of a grand conspiracy, just a greedy a-hole. Bob

Centralization of power and conglomerates is the key there Bob. Buy all the votes with Super\Pacs and get them in office with lobbyist at the beckoning while buying up Farm land & water rights with food processing manufacturing plants and distributions centers while pushing people into large cities where Huge Corporations that sell it all to the public,Well it makes people at the top very powerful in mundane ways, don't you think there Bob?

Get a clue, soon nitrogen/co2 regulations are coming just like in Holland and Canada along with the 2030 agenda and the United Nations laws.It will be so many regulations to follow with procedures that you will be unable to sell produce on the side of the road one day soon.

I can remember drinking fresh milk as a kid on a farm from a real cow,try doing that today and they will put you in jail if you sell one quart or pint to someone.
