I just ordered a 3.5 qt Braiser w/lid for $238, (on sale, down from $368ish.)
Yes, for one (1) pot. 😮 I fully blame Susie for this purchase. She clued me in to them, then I saw a "Sale," on QVC a couple days later. I LOVE to cook, so I figure I would add this to my new set of Cookware. (My Christmas gift to me.) Cry once, then have something of quality, to last a lifetime.
Any one else familiar/own some?

It was the top shelf stuff and ridiculously expensive back when I first heard of it in the mid 70's. I've never had the urge to make that commitment. If I did have any, I'd always worrying about my wife screwing it up. Since I brought that up, is there any kind of warranty on it.

Although ridiculously expensive, I plan on using this one pot as my main cooking ensemble/pot. (As I mentioned, I LOVE to cook and do regularly. Cry once, and get a very high quality piece. 😢
I just bought myself a nice new set of pots/pans for myself for Christmas. My gift to me.
No Le Creuset cookware here but about a year ago I found my kitchen needed a good cast iron skillet. Had gone through several of those aluminum clad with nonstick materials over the years and got sick of thinking about all the not so good additives I was putting into many meals.
I carry a Cabela's credit card and had accumulated several hundred dollars in their points system. Ever since the Bass Pro buy out, the stuff being offered for sale at Cabela's has really taken a nose dive IMO. But I did manage to see they did offer some very high end cookware items. High End! My wife thought I was nuts but now has nothing bad to say about the 200 dollar frying pan from France. Only way I would have bought it was because it really was FREE with my points!
Just have to be very careful not to drop this thing on your foot! Very heavy and I use two hands and always move it when needed for my wife. The STAUB Enameled cast iron frying pan:
Nothing that high dollar here. Just a couple of good old cast iron frying pans and Dutch ovens. . The two pans are 50 plus years old as is one if the Dutch ovens . No idea as to brands but made in the USA. And no they are not for sale .

This Le Creuset pan w/lid is 11 lbs. Many, many coats of ceramic individually fired. (QVC had the Le Creuset factory featured, so you could watch how they are made.) Impressive.
They are a cast iron pot, coated in Ceramic. Inside and out. Can use metal utensils, but not really recommended. (Scraping etc.)
*I also own a full range of Cast Iron Cookware. (As well as the new set I bought just before Christmas from Amazon. Shipped from the individual mnfgr.)
Nothing exotic at our hose for cook ware however they sure sound nice
As for cost spread over a life time really not that much if you look at that way congrats like every thing if you enjoy it having better tols makes that much more enjoyable Besides Even a few trips to any fast food joint would equal the cost a pan you will have for ever
My oldest son and his gf bought us set of pots and pans for Christmas to replace a bunch of older non stick ones we had I don't remember the name but there decent
Also we have maybe 8 or 10 maybe a few more cast iron various sizes square flat round deep with lids _mostly Wagner a few lodge and even aone or two mported knock off I grew up in the town where Wagner ware was made
We got some from my mil and some from my mom after they passed on and I was buying some at local garage sales and fle markets over the years .
My Mom got hooked on QVC and she bought a bunch of it. After she passed in late 2021, we sold it all, it was all still NIB.

I have one of those corkscrews that came with a completely furnished house I bought back in '78. It still is the best there is and will even remove a stuck lead ball in a Derringer pistol with a 2" barrel! 😁
Nope. When my wife and I got married we got a set of Belgique all stainless steel cookware. It will last long after I am done cooking in it, and long after my kids would be too, should it get handed down to them. But it is pretty ordinary. I also use some unbranded cast iron that will be/do the same.

We have some LeCreuset also. I know we'll never wear it out. We also use our Farberware stainless steel wedding- present cookware every day. Its 49 years old and still going strong.
Received it about an hour ago. VERY nice piece of cookware. Workmanship is extraordinary. Two pretty thick books were in with the very substantial packaging. One was a cookbook. 😁 The other book was a care and warranty book. It also shows all their other cookware/pots/pans. Now I want more. 😮 This is Very bad.
QVC Rocked it from order to delivery. Rivaled Amazon. (That is saying a lot.)

Had one of the small dutch ovens for 3 years then one day the bottom started flaking. Have a couple of older lodge and no problem. Not saying their bad could be a defective pot I just question if their worth the price.
@Tflogger, if it was indeed Le Creuset, they have a Lifetime warranty, provided you do Not do a couple different things. (Quinch a hot pot in cold water, or drop it.) Most everything else is covered. I just got through reading their pretty comprehensive booklet.
Did you try contacting them, in order for you to send it in, so they could look at it? Just Curious.
I have quite a few Lodge (uncoated) Cast Iron pieces. Different animal entirely than the Ceramic Coated entity I have here in front of me now.
I love mine. For the pieces that have handles I bought a couple of their silicone covers to insure I don't burn my hands.
Here are a few pieces:
Bottom left to right are two casseroles, three mini cocottes, a Dutch oven and my braiser. On top is a flower shaped cocotte and another mini cocotte. I have a wide variety of other pieces not on display. I keep my chicken fryer in the camper. It's a versatile piece which is perfect for camping.
It's still here somewhere, the lodge are also coated and no problem. Like I said could be defective I will check it out.

A braiser, I thought that you bought some kind of overpriced pot. What are you gonna do with a braiser?? Why didn't you buy one of those cast iron Dutch ovens? Now that would be useful cause you can just throw than in a camp fire and cook all kinds of stuff, even biscuits. I like hot biscuits with butter and molasses.
My wife likes Le Creuset cookware so she has received such for Christmas gifts. The 5.5 quart Dutch oven makes a great pot of soup or chili.
Ive got an eight quart pot, like it, but once you learn to season cast iron properly, no need to spend the big money.

We've got a few pieces here. There are a few copies out there that seem to be just as nice as the Le Creuset. We hardly ever cook, so its all for show at this point. My oldest daughter is an amazing cook. The rest of us are lucky to be alive at this point.
The only thing I've found is if there is ever any chip in the coating the entire thing can discolor.....we have a large dutch oven that has a chip at the top and it has a ring around the entire thing, the upper half is a brighter color than the bottom half. I keep thinking I'm going to send it in....but things never work out for me on warranty issues so I'm sure it would not be replaced and it would cost me shipping back and forth in the end.
All of a sudden I'm getting google ads for the stuff, but that's a whole next level right there!

@Locust Fork some of my pieces have an ombre effect color. I bought them that way. Just pretend you did as well. 😆

I think I own a frying pan and a pot and maybe a lid for the pot, but I haven't cooked a meal at home in 15 or 20 years. At my office I do have a very nice microwave and my buddy just gifted me a really sweet air fryer that I have used to cook some chicken breasts. Neither of these require pots or pans.

Ombré is the blending of one color hue to another, usually moving tints and shades from light to dark
I guess it'd be too much to ask that we just call it 'blended', huh? Kinda like having to say 'charcuterie' when we mean a cuttin' board with meat and cheese... 😉
