I must have 6 in my closet. Haven't worn one many years. Even weddings & funerals these day are down dressing!

I have 2 collecting dust if I can't wear jeans and flannel I ain't going.
Last time I wore a suit was when I was working and went to court.
That was a long, long, long... time ago.

Weddings and funerals and I wore one to my Nephew's graduation from the police academy. I don't mind wearing a suit, I actually miss the days when men wore suits or coats to church and nice restaurants or at least a coat. Very few restaurants require a coat any more (Burn's in Tampa requires a coat) and a couple of others but style and class is long gone from our society. Now, life is a freaking zoo, any kind of crap you choose to wear, anytime you want to wear it (including stupid clown colored hair .......... what's wrong with you people?) I am so very glad that I came from the era that I did, got to see America when it still had class and a modicum of dignity and all the freaks were still in the shadows.
I don't however, want to wear a suit to the grave .................. it's time to relax then.
I have two "just in case" suits. Only bought them for War College when we had to make a lot of trips to the Capitol (out of uniform for some reason).
Shamefully, I have to watch YouTube every time I wear one just to tie the tie.
I wore a suit or coat and tie most days for over 30 years. When I retired almost 10 years ago, my suits and all but 2 sports coats, a dozen pairs of dress pants and a bunch of ties and dress shirts went to local Ministry where they mentored individuals and helped them get ready for job interviews. They worked with individuals coming out of rehab, Homeless folks and veterans.... Seemed like the best place for those items.......
I have a marrying and burying suit that I wear as needed. A couple newer sport coats that I wear on occasion ....
only to funerals, my mom allways made me dress up to take her to funerals, and out of respect for her memory I still suit up for them.......
I have several, different colors, black, brown, blue, tan. Being an officer of the Masonic Lodge requires it. I always wear one when officiating at a degree, funeral, or other important occasion. I never had to wear one for work, so it's not too much trouble to wear one when needed. I wear one to weddings and funerals of family and friends too. The wife thinks they make me look "distinguished", LOL!
My 9 year old grandson has requested a suit for Christmas. Black pants, jacket and tie as well as an appropriate shirt. He has a suit jacket, a couple of vests and clip ties at the moment.
He wears them frequently including to school. He calls them his "gentleman clothes." He was the ring bearer for #3's wedding when he was 2. He cried when he had to return the rented tux. I'm getting him a "gentleman's hat" for Christmas. His mom and dad are getting him the suit.
Susie, that is just so cool.
I have one I had to buy for a meeting and convention in Canada the company I was working at sent me to that was 30 years at least ago
I will guess it will still fit maybe a bit tighter. 😁 should just get rid of it If I need one easy to pick up a one on the secondary or thrift store racks
oh just remember does a light blue Leasure suit count I still have it 😎
I must have that many or more in our cedar closet. Had to wear one every day for the office and especially when going to court.
I used to spend really good money on them. The tailor I bought them from was around for 75 years. They offered free alterations for as long as you had the suit. They were a big store, had thousands of suits and probably 50 sales people plus tailors. Now they are out of business.
I was going to donate the suits but the donation places want you dry clean everything first and that is not going to happen.
I also wore suits to work for a number of years. Dug one out occasionally for charity dinners and such. I have my dress blues uniform for "Doesn't he look natural" so have no real need for the suits. I doubt even the second-hand places have much need for them, either these days.
What are these 'suits' of which you gentlemen speak?
I have worn mine three times in the last two weeks - military funerals.
Sixteen times so far this year.
My job is to fold and present the Flag.
So ...................... there is one classy guy left. Good for him.
I have several, but the only time lately I have worn them was at funerals and my granddaughter's graduation.

@susie It sounds like he might be a Blues Brothers fan.

I tried to post them @Ditch-Runner but they were turned sideways. I’ll brush up using @Kevin_L “Picture Rotation” tutorial and try again.
how are you gonna press all those wrinkles out??????????
I have one suit and my fire dept dress blues . I will wear one or the other depending on the occasion.
I thought this was going to be a thread about the Netflix series. Suits! It was a good one.
I almost forgot this one. It’s my best suit.... for only the finest of occasions. Haha!!
My mother-in-law made it for me 24 years ago…..and it still fits!!!
I seem to out grow them before I need them
Must’ve been a Halloween suit, and you were a ghost!
The pictures aren’t coming through.
When my son got married, some of the brides family were hard working, good ole boy loggers. They took part of Saturday off to come to the wedding.About 6 of them came in the muddy crew cab truck wearing their work clothes, carrying their suits. They changed in the church and when these guys came in,you would never know they were the same guys that came in a few minutes ago. They looked more like ads in a magazine for mens suits.Combed their hair and beards and they were handsome guys.
That kid has style. I like him!
