Martha came back home today after a few days on the road....

Martha had been out on a toot or something again. She returned today after 8 days out and about. I have been putting food out every night and put a game camera on it. All I got on camera were possums and a feral tomcat we see from time to time. Tonight I went out to put more food out and she came jumping up on the porch and ran up and practically jumped into my arms... Purring away and rubbing on me.
Makes you wonder what she was up to all these days..... She ate and sat with us for quite a while. We finally put her in her shelter and put it in the garage. She crawled in and disappeared for the night...
Furballs sure work their way into your heart....

When our porch cat disappears I go for a walk around the property with a bag of cat treats. She doesn't get them often but knows the sound of the bag opening, etc. Usually gets her to attention & she double times it to the house.
She is a pretty cat.
Do you think she wanders to a neighbor's house and hangs out?
Welcome back martha
⁰⁰+2eqSome cats just love to explore we have some when younger would vanish for a few days to a couple weeks but always made it back
Now their all older and just content to stay around the place
We have one called handsome would do the disappearing act we found out some time later a neighbor about a mile away had been feeding him?
Anyway to put a tracker on her, would be interesting to see her journey.
I had a Bengal cat (for 13 years) that would disappear from time to time. She had a habit of slipping through doors behind me, and I always hypothesized that she would get trapped in neighborhood outbuildings until the next time the door was opened. That happened once with my travel trailer when she went missing for several days. Then again, the Asian leopard cat in her loved to spend time in the surrounding woods.
Peripatetic Martha.
Glad she returned once again, but them leaving concerns me. Sometimes they leave and never make it home.
Got her out of her shelter this a.m. It was time for her flea/tic application. Sat on the porch with her for a little while with some treats and then she headed out into the yard and laid down on near one of her favorite spots near a tree...
Good to have her home.......
Our neighbors all know her. No one had seen her these past several days. I checked the neighbor's barn and the other neighbor's big shop.. It would be real interesting see what she has been up to this week..
That always worked in the past. I walked the yard ever night she was gone shaking her treat box and calling for her..
We have talked about that. I am concerned about putting a collar on her as she could get hung up on something while out and about...
But still considering it
I've had ours (many different ones) get out and come back a week or so later simply showing up at our door. They were all ferrel but no big deal. We're in a semi-rural area with alot of wooded area.
We had one with similar markings and almost identical color. He was a terrorist of an animal, and raised holy Hannah with our other cat.
We had an ice storm and tried to bring the pets inside, and crackzilla (his name was Zilla) would have nothing to do with that. When I started the generator (diesel), he left and was never seen again.
Glad to hear your friend continues to come back.
Glad Martha has returned to the homestead. Hope she sticks around for a while. Merry Christmas Martha. ---------------------Ray
Me thinks that Martha has a side hustle going on. Just sayin ................................ 😉

you'll know if she's hung up by the collar watching the location or from the wellness alert.
Or duct tape a Apple Air Tag on her. I see you're still paying to see if the cat will come back.
