Colonoscopy Went South ,,,,,,
Good friend had one last Sat. morning, by evening he was in such pain he couldn’t get to his truck to go to emergency room.
Ambulance finally made it to the ranch for a 30 mile trip to the hospital. A couple of ‘scans’ and they called in the ‘on call’ surgeon. She was out jogging and jogged straight to the hospital.
One look at the scans and she sent him to surgery, post haste !!
She made an incision from his navel to about as far south as you can go.
Previous surgeon had perforated the colon in two places. Several inches of the large intestine and colon had to be removed.
Buddy is a tough cowboy and tolerates a lot of pain, but he said this was almost too much. He managed to eat one bite of scrambled egg yesterday.
I’ve given a lot of antibiotics to cattle/horses but nothing like he’s getting, oral and IV.
I told him I had his cow pony saddled outside the hospital and ask if he wanted to take a little ride. He said; ‘maybe after lunch”. ,,,,,, 🤣

I had a similar experience that put me in the hospital for about a week. I went in with a 101 fever from a nick in the colon. We were keeping my 4 yo grandson at the time, and he cried because his great grandpa and paternal grandpa had gone into the hospital and not returned alive. In addition to the antibiotics, they put a 6 inch needle in my abdomen for drainage. Man, it hurt when they pulled it out after a few days! I did not use the same doctor for my next colonoscopy.😫
You mean they didn't give you the "my bad" shpeal and the next one is on me deal? Do tell me at least you made a stink to the board.
And this is WHY some don't feel the need is worth the risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The percentage of problems is about the same as being in an air crash - near zero. Never actually zero, but damn close.
The chances of getting and dying of horribly painful colon cancer, however, are much higher. Especially for those who don't get the test.
Folks die all the time after having routine dental work as well. Should we skip having cavities filled and such as too?
Ultimately, however, risk vs gain is a personal choice, as it well should be.
I'll keep using Cologuard unless something bad is indicated.
Agreed. They need to come clean and look into that.
I see what you did there.
Yep. The truth will come out in the end.
This post is nothing but a bunch of sh--😫
Now you guys are just piling on.
