New Years Eve/Day plan?
I got nothing planned other than going to San Jose to pick up a bit of eats and Ume Shu (plum wine) on sale. $10 a bottle instead of the typical $15/$16 a bottle so it's like buy 2 get 1 free. Nice. I like to fortify it with Vodka to kick up the proof and cut the sweetness.
For eats I plan to pick up the local abalone. I think my jaws can handle it. Dim Sum while I'm in San Jose because I don't wanna deal with cooking. Got a personal sized 5 liter mini-barrel of Original Munich Hofbräuhaus lager cooling in the fridge (that's gonna be fun). And no I ain't gonna be singing no polka because I don't have a lederhosen. Sorry ladies.
I got a few days to figure out what I'll be watching for New Years. I wonder how many movies takes place in New Year? I know "Trading Places" is both Christmas and New Years but what else?
Anyways what is youse plans?

@yoshmyster I use plum wine as a mixer for vodka also. 😃

steak & lobster on the grill & movies
yoshmyster, I've been to the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. Big place w/ an oompah band playing. Quite noisy since there we no soft surfaces. I brought home a sweatshirt from the gift shop. I had a great time with an ex-manager that transferred there along with his family years previous. I was surprised to learn that many restaurants have their own brewery onsite. Also it's illegal to call an establishment a beer garden unless there is at least one chestnut tree on location.
Toolman286 - I get the Choya with real plum fruit. It's good stuff if you can find it or order it. Also the bottle make a nice water carafe because it has a flip top. Now what I do is get two bottles worth of fruit in one bottle then I put vodka and little sugar and forget it for a while. Oh there is a Korean plum extract that makes a nice summer non-alcoholic drink 1 part extract to 4 parts water. Or make a vodka mixer. https://mykoreankitchen.com/what-plum-extract-looks-like/ Typically it's about $15 or cheaper from another maker.
I reckon the 90 year olds are gonna party so hard.
cbxjeff - They make you bring your own seat cushions, huh? Good reason to bring a wheel chair. Did not know about the chestnut rule. Would love to go to one and order the deep fried pig ankle Schweinshaxe but I'll never go.
*Almost forgot stay vigilant and safe.
Left overs for supper. In my Recliner, a book in in hand, some music in the background. Some snack's close at at hand (healthy stuff),
Wife asleep on the Couch (as usual) .
Just another start to another year.
Yep. Same old same old. The New Year celebrations don't interest me anymore.

Prime rib roast with family. Watch the ball drop in NYC live with a ceremonial toast. Be in bed and asleep by 10 pm. Pretty standard really.
Change the calendar.
home with a bottle of wine watching football. cheaper and safer
The fireworks stands are open and I'll probably be asleep before they even get the show started., if not I may go out on back porch and watch all of Fort Worth light up the sky. Haven't been to a NY eave Party in about 10 years...
I seem to get to bed earlier every night but wake up at the same time. As far as New Year's I can't think that far lol. I hope my neighbors don't get any ideas about fireworks lol

Expect to be awakened briefly by the fireworks. Other that that, nada.
I don't hear the fireworks once I take my hearing aids out I am done, but the dog on the other hand growls, barks and runs around like a crazy person and he does wake me up......
We're going to hike up Centinel Point and spread our daughter's ashes.
What a beautiful place. May she rest in peace there...

That looks like a beautiful place, I sure she would thank you. I’m also sure this will be hard for you, we will all be with you in spirt and prayers.
Nice, you can all look up & think of Billie Jean while she's looking down on her family.
That is a wonderful view and lovely place... Prayers for you all...
