Shipping Via UPS?

Damiaen_FlorianDamiaen_Florian Member Posts: 4

Hello, I am in the process of getting ready to sell parts for AR-15 (non-serialized, nothing that would require an FFL) and was just wondering if there was a way to ship via UPS?

I do not see them as an option under 'Create a Shipment', only FedEx, USPS, & USPS Flat Rate.

When I go to list an item I see no UPS specific options for 'What classes of shipping do you support?' under the Payment and Shipping tab. Not sure if options like 'Ground' would suffice.

I am quite new to GunBroker (and shipping in general) so any help would be appreciated, thank you very much.

Labeled as machine parts (shipping & receiving) have always worked for me on non FFL parts…….👍️

That's for when you actually create the shipping label? Kinda curious why GunBroker doesn't have an option for UPS, do they not allow its users to use UPS as a shipping option? I know when it comes to shipping firearms there's a whole other host of rules

Noticed it wasn't listed as an option on the Shipping Estimates page either, is it possible to ship via UPS on Gun Broker? If so, how do you give a customer an accurate shipping cost on your listing?

Ship any way you like but label it machinery parts.

    Should be good to go

So would I be able to select Ground shipping and still give the customer accurate shipping pricing? I ask because I've only ever seen UPS ground shipping labeled as 'UPS Ground' not just 'Ground.' Or should I select 'Other?' Also thank you for the other advice I will be sure to label it as such

I get my labels on my USP account at a discount. Simple to sign up and become a UPS member. If you are shipping from checkout just mark ground and give the buyer a total after they buy it and see what it costs online UPS. Believe me it safes a lot of money rather than going to a UPS outlet or hub. Also online UPS does not ask what you are shipping as long as it isn't batteries and liquid.

USPS would be easier if you don't want that route. I put a fixed price on USPS shipping and sometimes it is higher than expected or lower than expected but be aware USPS along with UPS rates are upward.

I don't believe GB is going to do any of the shipping for you other than adding the amount and possibly collecting it on line if the buyer pays the invoice through GB. As the seller you have to do the leg work to get the cost of and do the actual shipping to the buyer. Some sellers choose to only use certain methods for shipping other will choose the lowest cost on a case by case basis. You can select just "ground" as the method and a "buyer pays actual cost" but as the seller you have to find out what that amount is. Most (in my experience) do this ahead of time so that they can include actual amount or they do it when asked by the buyer once they know where it is being shipped to. Many just figure an average cost based on the items they sell and hope it all works out. If you are planning on selling a lot of the same size items, just find out what it will cost for a flat rate to the places you are willing to send to, like the lower 48 states and charge more for outside of that…

Flat rate USPS is way out of line these days. Better off packing it yourself in a box if a person goes that route and ship "Ground Advantage,"

Good point @Grasshopper I didn't see your post until after I posted mine.

UPS only ships firearms to or from FFL holders. They make shipper set up a pick up only account. FFL to FFL. No more dropping at terminal or customer counter. This started last year when UPS folded to some anti gun eastern senators.

I assume GB did not include UPS because they now reject anything with a firearm word/term in the title. Nothing "firearm" related can be shipped. Not antiques, muzzle loaders, shotgun barrel……..
