  Thank you. Thank you for our way of life. Thank you for sacrificing your innocence for us. Thank you for enduring many ungrateful countrymen who were and are ingnorant enough not to realize that without you they would not be able to express their stupidity. Thanks to your families as well. May you have peace and happiness all the rest of your days.

  I am a father and uncle of recent Iraq veterans and new here.I just want to say thanks to all of you for your service and sacrifice.I was an Army helicopter crewchief back in the 70s and have recently retired after working at Ft.Rucker as a helicopter mechanic for many years.May your Higher Power bless you and yours on this Veterans Day.

  As a vet, I'm not really interested in being thanked- What I really would appreciate is if others would take enough interest in history and human behavior to realize what benefits have resulted from our military involvements, conversely, the various outcomes we would be presently living with if not for the various involvements.

  I'm sorry you don't want to be thanked for your service. Being the son of a veteran, I think it's quite obvious what has resulted in our military involvements. I'm also grateful for leaders that weren't and aren't afraid of facing criticism for military involvement.

  That's why people are thankful. You don't here Nazis, Communists, and Terrorists saying thanks. Just good old Americans who don't speak German, Who aren't afraid to vote, and can rest easy at night knowing that our kids are safe. Every Generation before mine in our family has served (mom's side). The Army recruiter told me that I could not enlist in 1996 because of medical reasons (hereditary lung defect from my father's side). So I became an LEO to serve my community if not my country. No offense was meant. I just wanted to share the sentiment of greatfulness for all that you and all the others who have served have sacrificed for my freedoms.
