There are more red snapper now that ten years ago. With the new limits they are going to put a lot of good poeple in the charter business out of work. It's all BS,it's a bunch of government payed biologist trying to justify their jobs. Here in Georgia I personnaly know three captains who have had to leave the business to support their families.

Back in the 60s I could go out on a head boat and catch 20 to 30 Red Snapper along with that many big Sea Bass and several Grouper. The Sea Bass have gotten small, the Red Snapper are fewer, and without Menhaden or Cigar Minnows you are not going to catch Grouper.[V]

Bottom fishing isn't what it used to be but it is no so bad that you have to stop bottom fishing all together.

Now we have seen a substancial increase in Kings, huge Blues, all types of Tuna, Spanish and Cobia trolling.

A lot of the increases in species population, is directly associated with net bans.Seining entire runs of King Mackral nearly wiped out the fishery.Even the net boat Captains knew they had to stop.I remember a few seasons (spring and fall run) where it NEVER HAPPENED.Netters had killed so many kings their was no migration of numbers enough to even consider a "run".
