Bass pond cleaning?

We just bought a property that has a 1 acre bass pond on it and I would like to clean out all of the bass and put in trout. What is the quickest way to do this? dinamite maybe? The pond is 16 ft. deep.

You could use a drag net, or a track hoe to drain it. If you decide to drain it you should put in lots of structure while it's empty.

Catch 'em all. [:D] Sorry couldn't resist. I'd go with the drag net.

If you want help catching them, I'd be more than willing to help.

you could all ways bluestone the pond but you will have to restart the whole system afterwards as this will even kill the algae
water systems often use this to kill algae to maintain water quality
to kill everything you will have to use a little more.

    bluestone(copper sulfate)

...check with your local Game Warden, he can help.
Even thiugh it's private, check w/the Warden...bass in all the states Ive fished are game fish, regulated and rules...but probably don't apply to your private lake...just to CYA...[;)]

Be careful of the copper sulfate, not to say don't use it but be careful. I used to be in the water treatment business and it was commonly used to get rid of algae in raw water reservoirs. I knew a guy who got over enthusiastic about the stuff and turned the mud on the bottom of a pretreatment pond a hazardous waste by the time he needed to clean it out.
