As opposed to those organizations where they wore the patch of their present unit on their left shoulder, the patch of the unit there former unit on their right shoulder, and the patch of the unit they wanted to be in on their chest, I was in the USMC that didn't need no stink'n patches.

i came here to bring good memories back.
if you dont have a patch, then post your k-bar.[:D]
when i was kid, my neighbor brought out his uncles korean war pilot helmet to wear when we rode our go-karts down the hill. we were being like steve canyon. it stuck in my mind and never forgot it.
it helped make me the aviator i became. its things like patches that kids like. they like to touch things, not listen to old koots. so, if youre lucky to have more than bad memories or tattoos to show everyone, post it here so others can enjoy.[;)]

Lighten up, Bob. All Ray was saying is that Marines don't wear patches. If it will make you feel better, I'll post a pic of the tiger stripe hi-rise briefs I had made up for me in Danang.

    196lib,

I had a E7/1SG when I was in '81-'85 name of John Kendall in the Americal Division. Ever hear of him? As usual a lot of people in a division so no biggy if you didn't know him.

Here is the Patch for Task Force 115, known as Operation Market Time. We patrolled the coastal areas and supported other units in coastal and riverine ops.

Now, the Island on the other hand, that would be a big YEP!

special forces patch, for Ray B , the patch on the left sleeve is the unit you are assigned to. A patch on the right sleeve is of a unit you served with in combat.

Hello, my brothers. Glad to be here. This is my first post on GunBroker.

I was a Forward Air Controller for all of 1971. Because I flew a highly covert mission, we didn't have patches. We flew in "sterile" fatigues, flight suits or sometimes shorts and tee shirt: no name, no rank, and no ID card. But we did have these "generic" patches around. Oh the mission patch is a bit of an understatement; I flew 300 missions.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

That was also one of mine. I wore the 'Greenie Beeny' but not in RVN.

I'm a little too young for Vietnam, but I did serve a 20-year career. Here are some of my patches:

Served almost 9 years here, and saw the Wall come down:

    BerlinPatch-2-1.gif

    ASA School Brigade, Ft. Devens:
    ASA.gif

    Later, it reflagged to this:
    ArmyIntelligenceSchool.gif

Ft. Devens itself (the FORSCOM patch):
    ForcesCommand.gif

    2ndADpatch.jpg

After the Gulf War (to which I wasn't invited), I served briefly here before it reflagged:

    8ID.jpg

    To this:
    1AD.jpg

    In 1AD, I served twice.

I was with the 335th RR Co at Dong Tam, etc. 9th Inf Div and then with the 1st RR Co (AVN) Cam Rahn - Crazy Cats - 1969-70 - we sent our intercept to your folks at Phu Bai, real time from over Laos.
I passed through Ton Son Nhut a couple times. I was a 98G - voice intercept operator and an 04B Interpreter/Translator.
