Anyone who had a relative in WW2 who earned the Combat Infantry Badge or the Combat Medical Badge, is eligible for the Bronze Star
In 1947 the Bronze Star Medal was authorized for all those who earned the CIB or CMB according to Army Regulation 600-8-2,Military Adwards. It can be awarded to family members if VET has passed away.

My Father Died on 1995 and was awarded to him close to 3 weeks before he died. He was VERY Proud to have the medal awarded to him.
