In some societies, sea shells are money, others very large stones, we have dollars, the folks in Europe have the Euro China has the Yaun.

With a global economy this is a cumbersome system of exchange, it works for some but not very well overall, it is also volatile and cumbersome.

Real money, paper or otherwise is going the way of the Dodo bird and payments in salt. To avert a world wide currency crisis, the one we all know has to happen if things keep cruising along as they are now, will take a sudden worldwide change. The collapse of money as we know it would be a catastrophe of of the planets means of existence. Our societies, from Chad and Bangladesh to Sweden and Russia, the Middle East and China to the USA would be in utter turmoil. Nothing could move nothing could be made or built, nothing could fund anything across the globe. It can't happen.

Think of the robber Barons and the creation of the Federal Reserve, think of the IRS. Thinking of the current world currency situation everybody loses with total collapse, there is no way back up off the bottom.

Instead of this happening I can see a change in the middle of the night, much like the Federal Reserve took over. I can see dollars, Euros, Yuan or what ever simply ending. You will have credits, like in the movies, paid in credits, charged in credits no matter where you happen to be. Cash is a thing of the past and its use will diminish even quicker over the next few years.

Credits folks you will have credits, ones and zeros in a computer, so will the Nomadic tribesmen on the Sahara Desert selling camels milk and goats. Bill Gates will have credits that have the same value as the guy making I phone 15's in China.

What else could possibly work, the world is getting smaller by the day, the current system is on its last legs the whole system has to change because failure is truly not an option for the globe.

No option? Accept a chip with credits in your debit card or worst in your hand? Hack proof too I bet?

There is no intrinsic value in Electronic digits and many people will not accept government control of value and tracking of all transactions. Only force by a dictator will it be instilled in society.

    BINGO!
there is also no intrinsic value in the Federal Reserve notes we have or the Yaun or the Euro. Value is an illusion with ANYTHING. Two thousand years ago it was olive oil, wine and salt. Now it is paper money backed by "faith".

A dictatorship in one part of the world has very little impact upon the value of your dollar. Value is what people perceive so when the collapse of the current Dollar, Ruble, Yaun, Euro happens something has to replace it. "Credits" have value to you if you can buy a gallon of gas with one and a pound of ground beef with one and even a house with one. Much like bit coin has value now a world wide system of credits will have value.

It's not going to be called credits, it is going to be called dollars.

Either the Euro or the US Dollar will eventually become the worlds "credits".

MG1890, That is the one change the Russkies and Chinese won't accept. There has to be a new name to hide the fact the world is flat broke, swimming in debt and no money has any true value anymore. The entire world's power structure has to be in on the scam.

The robber Barons of the past morphed into the Federal Reserve of today almost overnight. They stole the nations money system and disappeared behind walls of Granite. The Fed Reserve's massive imposing buildings giving the appearance of legitimacy and operations cloaked in secrecy to protect our "wealth", people BELIEVE in it. Of course our Progressive government at the time was complicit in the transformation and the transference of the wealth. Government got to tax it and keep growing with nothing to stop it.

Just like it will happen on a world scale when the time comes.

The money change has to happen overnight, your dollars become(_______) (pick a word) that has value because the largest governments on the planet say so, not because it is backed by anything real. You will buy your TV with it, pay your taxes with it and its value will be the same in Hong Kong and it is in Mogadishu or Jackson Ohio.

You are probably right. We all choose to participate in the "Federal Reserve Note" scam.

Paper money can, and has, become worthless overnight in some countries.

The three main players The USA,The EU & China/Hong Kong will all be equal in exchange rates 1 to 1 with Great Britain having a better ratio in the deal.

The Money changers will have to close The Tax Havens to all to make it work however.

Serf, it won't work. Value has to be stable and the same WORLD WIDE to have any credibility. It does not matter what England wants, they can't survive without playing the game. The system will be rigged to feed the banks a percentage of every transaction. The banks win when you go to GB the banks win when you buy gas the banks win when you pay your taxes too!

The winners are government and the banks, as long as the people accept the new "trinkets" as money it will in fact be money.
