Well we knew this would happen.....

The petition, which had 2,374,547 signatures shortly before 9:30 p.m. U.K. time, proposed a rule that stating if that if the "remain" or "leave" camps won less than 60 percent of the vote with less than a 75 percent turnout "there should be another referendum."

Technically, the referendum result is not legally binding because of Britain's sovereign Parliament. David Lammy MP, a member of the left-wing Labour party, called Saturday for a legislative vote on whether to remain in the EU.

I hope this guy is correct....

Alan Renwick, deputy director of University College London's Constitution Unit, told the Associated Press that a parliamentary vote to overturn the referendum result was possible "in legal theory ... In practice, that is absolutely not possible."

Better yet, make sure are rules in place to protect the political class and usurp the power of the voters in the event a country wants to leave. IE: wiggle room, stall, weasel out, packing fudge (voters are the packee.)

What is article 50 and why is it so central to the Brexit debate?

i think in the near future Britian, Germany, and others will regret the day they let Brussels rule their lives, sooner when all the borders are opened to freely allow movement by immigrants

Yeah Super Delegates in our Two party system and Our Fore fathers set up a Republic so that the simple majority could not rule. I think they thought the average Joe was not smart enough to control events by a simple majority.
