Police departments hiring legal immigrants

As the demographics change in the country and more and more illegals pour in for the dream act then the Republicans will see the light and nominate Jeb Bush for president and all become Rhino's in order to hold power and retire in luxury.

Police and firemen will get less pay and retirement benefits too! Good jobs with a strong dollar will be a thing of the past as The NWO brings in more and more socialism for the masses and the dollar crashes with all the debt and pork barrel politics.

Even now the infrastructure of our nation with bridges and roads are failing with no relief in sight but higher taxes and fees like toll roads and bridges to service all the debt as the interest rates climb, just watch!

No good manufacturing jobs either until a world standard of pay is incorporated by Mega Corporations either, The dollar,The Euro and Chinese yuan will all be close to equal before it's over.

olorado State Patrol Sgt. Justin Mullins said the department usually struggles to fill trooper positions in less populous corners of the state, including patrol sectors high up in the mountains. He said immigrants from Canada, the Bahamas, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Central America who are willing to live in those remote places have helped the agency fill those vacancies.

"People that want to live there and build a family there and work there is a little more difficult to find," Mullins said. "People moving from out of state, or out of the country, if they're willing to work in these areas, then that's great for us."

Other agencies, like the Cincinnati Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, require that officers at least have a pending citizenship application on file with the federal government. And others, like the Burlington, Vt., and Boulder, Colo., police departments, require that officers be legal permanent residents, or green-card holders.

With more immigrants moving to places far from the southern border or away from traditional immigrant magnets like New York City or Miami, agency leaders say it's important to have a more diverse police force to communicate with those immigrants and understand their culture. Bruce Bovat, deputy chief of operations in Burlington, said their immigrant officers help the agency be more "reflective of the community we serve."

I commend people that are willing and able to be in law enforcement/security forces as that is one job/responsibility I do not care to personally do as a job/career. Many thanks to our man and women that are in the LE and SF ... God bless!

I have nothing else nice to say or comment. [:p]

I see no problem if these applicants have true "legal" status.. that means they want to be here and abide by all immigration laws and the laws of our country...that is how America was founded in the 1st place.

I have no problem with that, as long as the PD's can do a thorough background check. It's probably better than hiring drug users & dealers, as most of our large cities now do.

But, I may change my mind the first time someone gets shot because he doesn't know how to respond to "Levanten sus manos!"

BREAKING NEWS: Law enforcement agencies across the US have been hiring legal immigrants as long as our country has been in existence.

Bagpipes aren't the traditional LE funeral instrument by chance. [;)]

The Irish yielded the slap stick very well in those days did they not?

Getting into the country under the dream act is not what the Irish did when they came. So legalism is a sophism act it's what ever The President says. How's that for trolling! [:D]

A job - a wage - was what they were seeking, and they didn't really care too much about the detail. Being unskilled, uneducated and typically illiterate, they accepted the most menial jobs that other immigrant groups did not want. So-called 'Elegant Society' looked down on them, and so did nearly everyone else!

They were forced to work long hours for minimal pay. Their cheap labour was needed by America's expanding cities for the construction of canals, roads, bridges, railroads and other infrastructure projects, and also found employment in the mining and quarrying industries.

When the economy was strong, Irish immigrants to America were welcomed. But when boom times turned down, as they did in the mid-1850s, social unrest followed and it could be especially difficult for immigrants who were considered to be taking jobs from Americans. Being already low in the pecking order, the Irish suffered great discrimination. 'No Irish Need Apply' was a familiar comment in job advertisements.

Early Sophists were well respected but they soon became unpopular and were subject to much opposition and controversy due to their high fees and their radical challenges to convention. The only citizens who had the money to learn from the Sophists came from the aristocratic class, meaning that many citizens were unable to learn from them. Sophist teachers were also thought to cater to the popular opinion to attract a greater number of students rather than being concerned with the truth.
