General gripe session.. feel free to jump in

I write here because ....well, I feel like I can speak freely without having to worry about being isolated. I wrote this on another thread (in case you saw it once before)but I thought that maybe it should have its own thread.

I live in the city of Lost Angels in the southern part of Australia Norte(Southern California).
I don't get it. I just don't get it.... people will fight to the death in order to keep the seal of Los Angeles county as it is. The ACLU threatened to sue if we didn't make the sign P.C. We lost.. I wonder why no one started a petition for the recall of the politicos who didn't even bother to fight for the very people they wish to represent. They fight for the right to keep porn actors in business in the valley, It's protected by the first amendment of the constitution. A police officer pulls over a person of color, and there are cameras covering very angle of the action. yet, in the same area, a boy only 14 years old begs for his life in broad daylight, only to be shot 19 times with no witnesses. The chief of police refuses to obey a supreme court order to issue more CCW's, but when he does, it's to one of his friends and gives him a city owned firearm(which by the way, wasn't even on the permit which makes it a crime in the state). So what does this genius do? He leaves the gun in his man bag,and tries to carry it onto an airplane he later goes on to say that he forgot he had it there. The result, the chief made a joke of it. "Oh I'm sure he wasn't going to hijack the plane and fly to cuba." and "It's an honest mistake." No sir, it is not! Had it been me or anyone not holding a CCW, we would have everyone from the local district attorney to the ATF(or whatever they call themselves this week) pressing charges against us asking for no bail and felony time, yet the "honorable" mayor of our city is under investigation for corruption and the chief refuses to obey state law by calling the INS whenever the cops detain an illegal alien(I am Mexican,so don't go there!). The same people who vehemently oppose Bush and back the lies...er I mean likes of Feinstein,Boxer, Hillary Clinton and Kerry. I don't get it... why aren't people as upset about this as I am? Did I miss something? Was there a meeting that I didn't know about? Did I not get the memo? Sorry about venting like that... It's just that I was born and raised here and I like it here. I hate the way things are going here..... Let me know if I am wrong ....
Thanks for letting vent.
Irv.

No, I don't think you are wrong. If it was ANYONE other than one of the "elite" they would be sitting behind bars. "Some" people ARE as upset about this as you are.

Its up to people like you to change the status of your communist state. If you choose to remain a resident, then work to get those liberals out of office. Sure it wont be easy, but it is possible. Work to change it, or live there, be happy, and stop whinning about it if you are not willing to help change it.

Its ok for you to vent, that dosen't bother me. What bothers me is that I see so many from Cali complain, yet nothing ever changes. You can get people to change their opinions, but they have to unstand the issues. A lot of people make up their minds based off of one single issue, with out looking at the bigger picture. Its a start.

I'm going to give the best advice I know. Leave Kalifornistan. If enough of you do, the liberals left there can be crime fodder. If enough become that way, they may reverse course and take care of the problem. If not, who really gives a $#!t? Hell, even the so-called "Conservatives" are hardly that in Kalifornicater.

Look, I know there are people who say "stand and fight for your home". Your "home" is condemned. To put it in other terms, would you leave a tumor or cancerous growth in you just because it is a part of you? I wouldn't. If it were as simple as a broken bone, that can usually be fixed, and doesn't usually require anything being extracted without being replaced. But at the same time, would you insist on keeping that same limb if it was mangled beyond repair, and would undoubtedly become gangrenous and fall off, anyway, and probably kill you?

If you are looking for a new home, consider the mountains. If I had the same dilemma, I would choose Colorado or Wyoming if I could.

Ultimately, the choice is yours, but that is all I can offer. Staying is too big a conflict of interest to me.

Those who would offer any interpretation that would relegate Amendment II to "relic" status of a bygone era are blatantly stating that the remainder of the Bill of Rights isn't worth a damn, either.

    gunphreak,
    Don't be suggesting Colorado. [;)] [:D]
Colorado has been Kalifornicated enough. They leave there because of the conditions, come here and start changing the conditions here, to match what they ran away from. Go figure.

Glad to see there are at least a few sane people in CA. All I can suggest is to decide on what action has to be taken to reverse the situation, link up with as many others as you can find, and start working on the problem until it becomes like just another part-time job.

I have been hoping for years now that the gun sweeps would start out in that Socialist sewer....

I watch with great glee as yet another 'reasonable' gun law is passed..and the jack-boots enforce yet another step towards the final solution..the total disarmarment of the citizens of Amerika...Today the .50 calibers..tomorrow bolt action 'sniper rifles'..at some point..you submit......OR YOU DON'T....

    Indeed.

Perhaps I am guilty as charged.

After 40 years of standing outside screaming that the sky is falling..it generates a bit of goulish humor as a few people start looking up...

Not being able to think in the long term is a common failing out there...so short term 'fixes' look attractive to the masses of folks...Yoy know..."Lets just accept this or that gun law..we will get 'em next time.."

    Hey pickenup,

I only suggested mountainous regions, not for the laws but for the landscape (lots of places to hide and bury stuff), and they are not densely populated (as is where I'm from). If you are looking for political ground, Wyoming might be the land of better opportunity.
