Hi There, You Confederate-Flag-Waving Rednecks!

trstonetrstone Member Posts: 833 ✭✭✭✭
....Now, now. now----before you start screaming in fury, you must realize that (A) As a beiever in firearms ownership, I'm one too, and (B) It's not me who's calling you this, but that delightful Dem, Howard Dean.

Seems that ol' Howie told an Iowa newspaper Saturday that he wanted "to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks" because he's (allegedly) been opposed to some---and I emphasize the word SOME---gun-control legislation.

Does he REALLY give a rat's a** about the Second Amendment? Well, YOU be the judge, provided you can all put down your Stars and Bars flags long enough:

"I still want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks. We can't beat George Bush unless we appeal to a broad cross section of Democrats."

And later, this paragon of political honesty goes on to say:

"My position on guns has nothing to do with appealing to groups. My position on guns was put together because I live in a rural state."

So....You want to sound like you're pro-gun in order to appeal to a broader cross-section of Dems, but your stance on guns has NOTHING to do with appealing to anybody, izzat it, Howie? How believable of you to say so. I'm sure you've convinced many, if not most of the Confederate-flag-waving, pickup-driving, gun-totin' yayhoos that frequent discussion groups like this one. And I'm equally certain that the fact that it's election time---and that the assault-weapon ban/extension is a hot-button topic for many gun-owners---has NOTHING to do with how your "position" on guns was "put together" (which, given your ultra-left-wing beliefs, is an eerily apt way of describing the situation, a'la Victor Frankenstein.) Nevertheless, I'm sure your words have convinced many here of your good intentions and sincerity.....

....Right, fellas?

Let's have a show of hands here: How many gun-owners here ACTUALLY think Howie Dean really, TRULY gives a tin crap about the Second-Amendment rights of us commoners?

Unless someone can show me a Dean voting record unambiguously showing SOLID, UNWAVERING support of gun-rights throughout his political career, I'd have to say: Not me.

Proud, Rebel flag wavin' Alabama Redneck here.

NO, REPEAT NO, Democrat is pro-Second Amendment. Heck, it's getting harder and harder to find a pro-2nd Republican. Dean's idea of letting each state decide it's own gun policies sounds good, but he believes in doing that only after letting the Feds pass a certain number of Federal laws, so we still lose.

I like Dean better than I like Generalissimo Clark, but of course I would vote for Gary Coleman before I would Wes Clark. That man's ideas sound like something straight out of Josef Stalin's playbook.

Like it or not, our best bet for 2004 is Bush, unless a strong third party candidate materializes. Here's hoping that we can get the job done in Iraq way before then and get our people home.

No shame in being a redneck. And no, everybody in the South isn't a redneck, and not all rednecks are from the South.

I was not granted by the grace of God the southern honor some of the others of you have been. But I am on your side. I cannot fly the Rebel Flag myself, but I have another flag I fly... The Gadsden Flag.

Out of all the Dems running Howard Dean scares me the most. If Hitlery was running then she would hold that title but in her absense Howie is a real scary fella.

Hitlerly(Good one, I'm gonna start using that one!) would be a terrible president. She's a true socialist, her political union (I won't justify it with the word "marriage") to Bill Clinton was just that: a free trip to the White House.

Unlike the original Klinton, she will do everything in her power to destroy this once-great country. She's in it because she's a true believer... and it doesn't hurt when you're addicted to the public attention.. The original Klinton was just in it for the ummmm 'access' to the native prostitutes...(does anybody really believe Monica wasn't trying to make a name for herself?) er highly qualified interns.

But to answer the question...NO! No Demokrat will ever, ever get a vote from me unless he not only supports my right to own hunting rifles, but my right to own handguns, assault rifles and machineguns.
Dean is just scared of becoming another Al Gore.

gunphreak - you see the first ammendment being attacked as well under the cover of campain finance reform. Our elected aristocracy in DC could care less about the Bill of Rights - it's all about power.

bmekosh- yep. Sure do. I also see the war on Drugs as an excuse to violate the 2nd and 4th Amendment rights of the people, and the judicial fiat as a way to deprive them of their 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Amendment protections, as well. The war of terror is an extension of the war on drugs. Did you see how fast terrorists and drugs were hooked together in campaigns and commercials just after the passage of the USA Gestapo Akt??? Yep, the Inkumbent Protektion Akt was a way to silence us by threat of jail. Well, I have a big mouth.

The so-called "war on drugs" is a load of crap, and even if it WEREN'T a flimsy, laughably-conducted pretext to put more and tighter leashes (in the form of unnecessary "laws") on the American public, it would STILL be what it is today: A complete and utter flop, an insult to the intelligence of each and every American citizen, an obscene and almost purposeful waste of money---money, furthermore, that doesn't even belong to the career frauds and pirates in Government who pretend that they know what's best for society. And, in some cases, aren't even going through the motions of maintaining THAT hoax anymore. And the idiotic Iraq War is only more of the same---a bullcrap war "justified" by not merely weak, but outright FRAUDULENT excuses, like the nonexistent "connection" between Saddam and Osama.

Oh, and while we're at it, let's not forget what ostensibly "started" it all: America's version of the Reichstag Fire, the World Trade Center/Pentagon 9-11 "attacks", where, by Jiminy, the airliner black boxes don't survive, but paper passports sure do...Especially if they belong to Middle East terrorists who don't even show up on boarding-area surveillance videos. And let's not forget Kerosene, the Miracle Jet Fuel which burns at only a bit above 800 deg. C, yet manages to burn hot enough with all the flame-retardant office materials present to soften structural steel at 2000 deg. C plus, enabling a jet plane (stuck in the SIDE of a high-rise building like a dart) to cause a huge building to collapse in a perfect, almost seemingly controlled straight-down fashion with nary a tilt to said weakened side...Just like any number of professionally-done building demolitions we've seen on amazing-home-video shows like "You've Gotta See This". Mirable Dictu! What an age we live in---it sure is good to know we live in a country with an honest Government to protect us from such engineering-proficient terrorists, eh, boys and girls? Nothing wrong here, is there? No indeedy.

Nope. Nosir. We'uns is jest a bunch of gun-totin', Cornfedderit-flag wavin' idjits who work for a living so's we can have part of our wages confiscated by Uncle Scam so he can keep the wheels of Free and Open Gubbermint turning, making up more and new and more asinine laws to keep us all in line, promising us hayseed dorks that we can keep our shootin' irons as long as we get Caesar's royal approval by REGISTERING some kinds...and as long as Caesar doesn't feel that they're the "wrong kind" for us bush-monkeys to own, like full-auto rifles, and---eventually---unneccessary things like semi-auto shotguns, and semi-auto rifles like M1 Garands. After all, that much firepower is a threat to Government, so you can see why it all has to go, right? Right.

Yeppers, life is good here in the Land of The Farcically Free and Home Of The Restricted. Makes me want to snap my Cornfedderit Stars 'n Bars galluses with pride, livin' in sech a liberty-conscious and Constitutional Republic. Don't y'all feel the same way?

    Yes, I'm angry, I'm p*ssed, I'm in a sarcastic mood yet again.
But I have to ventillate once in a while...

Guess I just do not watch or read enough news etc.....I rely on this site,a little news and some other stuff to keep informed.Never gave the Pass-port thing a thought...I will agree the "war" on drugs has ALWAYS been a joke. They never REALLY wanted to stop it...that I agree on. Um someone explain the Kerosene, jet fuel, falling building thing.I do get that the building should have fallen other than straight down, that I can see....I think....Help me out here ,are you saying the airliners never hit em at all??/

Think about it: The public has been fed this fairytale by the Government about how the WTC towers collapsed because "fires from burning kerosene heated the structural steel until it softened, causing the building to collapse." Interesting. Even more interesting: the building collapses straight down like a demolition job, despite the fact that the plane caved in ONE SIDE of the building, hence cutting and wrecking any load-bearing walls and such in ONE SIDE OF THE BUILDING ONLY. Rather like cutting down a tree by weakening one side, then having the silly thing just go "FLOOMP!" straight down off the stump, instead of heeling over like you'd expect. Wow.

Imagine that---burning kerosene and office wreckage manage to heat structural-steel beams up to the point where they soften sufficiently to cause collapse, yet all you see in the videos is this little black plume of sooty smoke from a low-temperature fire, and not big gouts of roaring flames like you'd expect to see if there was a raging, high-temperature conflagration going on inside the building.

Then, look at the Pentagon plane-crash fiasco. Same type of plane, same amazing kerosene fuel, same type of crash---yet in THIS instance the plane's kero DOESN'T burn hot at all, because the grass right outside the impact area is unscorched...yet it DOES burn hot enough to vaporize virtually all of the plane's wing material (very little of the wing material was found), which is a hell of alot of aluminum.

And somehow, a plane with a wingspan of over 120 feet manages to only rip a hole some 65 feet wide in the building. Oh, yeah. THAT makes sense.

There's just 'way too much that's fishy about this 9-11 business. From information I've seen, I find the whole story rather suspect, but I have no doubt that many people will think I'm some sort of "conspiracy nut" for even mentioning it. After all, the Government would NEVER perpetrate anything so heinous, would they? Of course not. Just like the Government would NEVER do anything like feed retarded kids radioactive oatmeal like they did in the late 40's-early 50's. Or inject mental patients with plutonium. Or lie about dangerous levels of fallout from the atom bomb tests.

Naaaah. I MUST be on the wrong track. Not OUR Government. Not in OUR country.

You might be a conspiracy nut, I don't know, but I will listen also. I thought, at the time of watching it, that both buildings falling straight down was ODD. Got any links?

Oh, and BTW, anyone here read "1984" by George Orwell? The simlarities between our modern-day world and the fictional one in that story are remarkable. The "wars" and such that the government made up to keep the serfs' minds occupied, the intrusion of government into the smallest detail of everyone's life, the re-writing of history, names of government agencies which mean the opposite of what the agency's true purpose was, even politically-correct speech.

Being a long-time sci-fi nut, I've long been of the opinion that some writers are psychic.
