Check this out.
Shows you what happens in a country where gun kontrol and "crime prevention" rule. That's right the Socialst republic of England. They actually want every British citizen to register his/her DNA!!! Once they stole the Brit's guns, they want to steal their DNA, "to prevent crimes". Shows you where the left-wing mindset takes you.

It'll never work. The only people who will register their DNA are the ones who registered their guns and got them confiscated. The DNA argument is without merit, and its justification is so weak as to allow the courts to find DNA evidence as conclusive, and has great potential for misuse... something I think they are counting on....

    But criminals will never comply.

Another way to control us and see what we are up too. Does government ever change.

No. It always seems to be a matter of time before a government gets out of hand and then becomes exterminated. It is only seeming to take longer, now, because technology is aiding the enemy of freedom, and that technology has a much more present hinderance ability, and the weapons we use, vs. the ones used against us are different, where there used to be no difference.

court just ruled in us that it is illegal to collect dna from prisoners for a data base....due to the courts saying that by collection of dna was based on an assumption that the person that dna is colleted from is guilty of a crime...civil rights violation!..so if they wont do to it for housed criminals..it will be a long time before the consider it for anybody else

I have to disagree with Kris. The courts have proven time and again that they are willing to protect AFTER you become a criminal, not before.

I hope the Brits enjoy every moment of their crime-free Socialist paradise. They wanted it, they trammeled people's rights to get it, now they can wallow in it for all I care. In fact, I hope the number of home invasions and violent crimes doubles, or even triples on them. They deserve it. Then they can institute an even stupider, ineffectual, Naziesque policy like mandatory DNA sampling of the ENTIRE population, so they can show how having COMPLETE information on every person in Britain will bring the current crime wave to a screeching halt....As if.

Have fun, you Socialist b**tards. I'm sure your freedom-loving policies are the delight and pride of the British people, who now enjoy a level of personal safety and liberty heretofore unseen in the annals of human society....

And while we're at it, kudos to Bush Jr. for his brave promise to extend the "Assault Weapons" ban here in the US when it sunsets in 2004; it takes guts to sit in the White House and run your mouth about American freedoms while simultaneously telling the American people---who supposedly have a Constitutionally-guaranteed right to keep and bear arms, with NO SPECIFIC MENTION OF THE TYPE---that it's okay for IRAQIS to have fully-automatic "Assault Rifles", but by God it's NOT okay for YOU. And it's just peachy-ducky for Israeli civilians to have such weapons, by by God, it's NOT okay for YOU. Which is understandable, after all, since the peasants---ahem, I mean, American citizens----would probably only use them to defy Authority (i.e., the US Government.) Thank goodness we have a brave President who is willing to take an unpopular stance and tell the peasants---ooops, I mean "the American people"---a truth they need to hear: YOU can't be trusted with things like "Assault Rifles", whereas foreigners in an openly hostile nation CAN be, because...Well...They just CAN, dammit! So there!

Let's face it, friends: With people like Bush Jr. in the White House, and undisguised Socialists in our House and Senate, and with servile little butt-kissers like the NRA fronting as "protectors of the Second Amendment", we are DEFINITELY on the same greased slide towards total firearm confiscation as Britain and Australia. It's no longer an issue of "if", merely "when". And we're to blame for this, when it comes as it surely will, for having relied on a phony system of "checks and balances" which has had an end-run made around it by people who have always hated the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Kennedys. The Schumers. The Feinsteins. The Lautenbergs. The Boxers. The Liebermans. The Clintons. The Bushes.

"Government". What a laugh. Govern? These people want to RULE, and they don't want a bunch of armed peasants standing in the way....

    terstone: how true.

When guns were invented everything changed. For the first time in the history of the world a frail woman had a chance to sucessfully defend herself and home. My dream is that one of the anti-gun nuts will need a gun for defense and be unable to have one because of their own actions.

It has always been the ways of goverments. Start at the least of your rights which are freely given until they are at the core. A slow process but one that has been around for all time. Now, how to stop?

Ever noticed that all these problems arise from ever increasing population growth? Millions crossing the borders seeking the American dream? Boom towns poping up everywhere. Developers will sell their mothers for the sake of money! Once beautiful farms, last remaining forest cover dissapering overnight paving way for housing projects!. Drive to the shooting range becomes a days affair. At this rate it is just a matter of time that we will only be allowed to shoot soft air plastic pellets in our basements. If you have not noticed this then you must be one of the lucky few living way back in the country. But believe me it is coming to your neighborhood soon!

Here---this may clear things up a bit:

    http://www.post-gazette.com/nation/20030525assaultnat3p3.asp

Our fake "pro-gun" President, Pseudo-Conservative Supreme, whom I will NEVER vote for again, says he'll sign the extension, while trying to be the penultimate political weasel (and trying to retain what little gravitas he has remaining with gun-owners) by hemming and hawing about making the ban "permanent". He wants to talk out of both sides of his mouth to people like us---the pro-Second-Amendment nitwits who helped put him on the throne---and convince us that he's on "our" side. What a laugh. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice....Well, you know how it goes.

if you are a thief/robber or any other thing like that aren't you going to think twice about entering someone's house if you knew that everyone owned a firearm? its common sense that a criminal would definately have to think about it a couple times. i think that if everyone carried a gun you would have to be a complete idiot to rob or steal or anything like that.

Thanks for the link, and just so you do know,I am NOT a staunch Bush supporter. It does however ,in the article look like he is trying to straddle the fence and make both sides happy.Of course that can't be done...he is worried about his next term, and will have to come out very hard one way or the other if he is to be reelected..IMO...L.H.

I tell you this: Were I a bad guy, I'd LOVE plying my trade in Britain, now that I know that my prey has been effectively disarmed. And I wouldn't worry much about the cops, either, knowing that very few of them would be carrying.

    trstone,
How true!! Below is a item from today's BBC news. I thought guns were banned in London!![xx(]!.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/3266337.stm

Here are some excerpts from the news item:

"The mothers of the two teenagers have started a campaign against gun violence."

"Letisha's mother, Marcia, and Charlene's mother, Beverley Thomas, travelled to New York to see how the problem of gun crime is tackled there"

    - When guns are banned, only the criminals will have guns
