Magnum primers in 38 spl.

kshockkshock Member Posts: 59 ✭✭
I load target loads for 38 spl. using 2.4 grains of Clays with a 148 wadcutter. I have been able to find some small pistol magnum primers but standard small pistol are still evasive (Federal). Someone told me that using magnum primers will not change things much but I am reluctant to go outside the norm since I am pretty much a novice reloader. Is it safe to use magnum primers in this load? Could the powder charge be adjusted to make it OK? Does anyone know where I can get info on this subject?
