Well, I messed that up...

Loaded my first batch of 9mm.
Picked the powder measure right in the middle of the range indicated on the manufacturer's website.

It was about as peppy as shooting a .380.

Very accurate. But it turned my semi into a single shot. Not enough recoil to cycle the slide.

Of course, since it was 9mm, I made up 200 to make it worth my while.

I'm guessing that the only choice I've got now is to bust them up with my inertia bullet puller. But they're plated bullets. So I'm not sure its worth the time. or how well they will survive the experience.

Maybe I can salvage the primed brass out of the deal?

Would you bother with the powder?

Ideas?

Suggestions?

I would just shoot them. Always a good idea to only load a few rounds to check for function etc. before producing a lot. Maybe a box of 50 or so to check accuracy. If you had 2000 I'd be pulling then down and recycling the components.

I learned many years ago, ALWAYS test anew load before loading a bunch of them up.

Hmmm, looking at my hodgdon manual shows that powder charge as middle of the road for that bullet(LRN), just as you stated. I guess I would pull a few and reweigh the powder, to see if it is alittle light.

I hate it when that happens.[:D]
what I have done is take the rounds apart and save the powder.
remove the de-cap pin from sizing die and start over.
Load about 1 mag worth at 3.6, 3.7, etc and mark (note) the loads.
Just curious what weapon was being used?
