Oct 2nd to Jan 31st for archery, we have a week of shotgun season in the somewhere.
I don't even know for sure the limit this year, might be a good thing to find out huh.

Here's a question: If you spotted a nice deer three times in the same field, could hunt the area you saw it in, would you tell anyone about it?

Octber 15th till november 22nd in ny then a week after gun season ends but theres to much snow to bow hunt

My old man's backhand used to land,
Hard on the side of my head.
I just learned to stay out of his way.
    There's been streetfights, blue lights,
Long nights with the world sittin' on my chest:
It just showed me how much I could take.
    Hard times, bad luck.
    Sometimes, life sucks.
    That's all right, I'm ok.
It ain't nothin' but another day.

I haven't said anything to anyone and it is killing me. My fiancee doesn't even know. She's still sleeping when I come back or else she has no idea where or what I am doing when I go to watch "stuff"...

Okay Okay, I can't hold it in anymore gotta tell someone. Besides the Muskingum Water Shed makes up like a 1/5 of this entire state so you guys should snag right onto this guy. [:D]

Two weeks ago I was driving out to check a spot to put in the boat and happened to see a deer coming out into a field. Once I stopped and it came all the way it was obvious that this buck has to be the or at least the 2nd biggest velvett whitetail I have ever seen not in a picture or on tv. If he doesn't go over 170 then he is a spike. I have watched him 4 times now and he enters the field from the narrowest section right along the river. So as long as he isn't swimming the river then it seems it will be easy to setup on him and hunt him. I took some digitals of him but he is so far away they are a blur and I'm not trying to get any closer. I'm gonna keep trying to pattern his times and go from there. So far his times have varied a hour minumum everytime I saw him, plus he never showed up three visits. Be nice to put a buckeye big buck on the wall this year and I am very confident this one will be that if not better.
So there it is, it helps me getting it off my chest and I have removed a few details which some local yocal from around here might read and pick up on.

Saturday Oct 2nd I'll be a tryin. I hate getting my hopes up
though. Two years ago I had a 10 pointer I watched and had dead
nuts. He walked under my stand 2 or 3 days into the season,
my arrow grazed his belly and he ran to the next farm where
an amish boy sank a cross bow bolt in him. It was a nice
buck, and I got to help drag it out. [xx(]

In Mississippi bow season runs from oct1- jan 31. You have to hunt with the gun hunters from nov 19-jan 17 then it is muzzleloaders and bows only.
Ben, I just might get to go back to IL this season to deer hunt again. I sure miss going there. To many big deer that keep me awake at night that I have seen up there. I wish I could be going during bow season but the guys I hunt with are all gun hunters. I may use my muzzleloader instead of a shotgun. I will take both if I get to go and decied when I get there. I am not one to turn down a chance at a giant white tail. As the old saying goes when in Roam do as the Romans.
