Don;t know about the rest of you but expanables are neat... but I wouldn't hunt them. In fact some states don't allow them.

For many years I bought every new fangled broadhead to come out. When I had my shop I tried them all. I've forgotton most of them. The "old timers" would come in for Bear and Zwickey 3 bladers. The Zwickey is my choice

Best expandables? The ones that don't need to expand. I've seen too many expandables F*** up. I would only shoot them if I was having severe accuracy problems. They're expensive, and none are 100% reliable.

I have bow hunted for over 14yrs and I have always relied on Thunderheads. I have since switched to first cut's. I have taken 4 deer with them and love them. I have never had a problem. My current hunting bow is a Mathews Ultra 2. I believe that some of the problems are with people shooting older bows that do not have the speed of the newer ones. Just an idea. On the other hand the Thunderheads work great also.

Shot fixed blades for 8 yrs then switched to mechanicals. Taken 5 whitetail with mechanicals, 10 with fixed, no problems. Fixed and mechanical both work. I went to mechanical for safety reasons period. I'd recommend spitfire, rocky mountain, and/or rocket. Rocky mountain appear to shoot the closest to a field point.
